“Located a block away from Bryant Park and in walking distance from my job, I decided I'd give this place a try.”

“The bamboo shoots are firm and the noodles are well cooked but not mushy, making them easier to pile onto your spoon and enjoy the taste.”

  1. This place was really great.  Robert and the other staff were super friendly, fun and helpful.   We started with edemame and the rock shrimp.  Standard edamame.   Delicious rock shrimp.   Had a bunch of rolls, and each was really fresh and tasty.   They pour a nice drink, and make some mean saketinis.  Will definitely be back.

  2. Came here in a group of 5 on a weekday noon for lunch. The inside decoration is cute – as you can check from many pictures posted here. We got sits right away without any waiting time.

Their menu is long – I didn't expect this small restaurant offers this diverse kinds of food. We each got something we want, like noodle soup, sushi, fried rice, and bento box. I love my beef noodle soup. Not only the portion is large but also the taste is not bad – better than average quick lunch places in midtown.

  3. I suppose this is the Japanese version of a New Jersey diner: there's every conceivable Japanese dish on the menu, from 10 different kinds of special rolls to ramen to yakitori skewers to bento boxes to teriyaki/tempura. Basically an izakaya crossed with a sushi bar with some ramen dishes thrown in for good measure. Usually, when a restaurant tries to do everything, it ends up doing nothing particularly well, but I will say that I wasn't disappointed with Norikoh's cold summer noodles

If you check in on Yelp, you get 2 free yakitori skewers. I picked the grilled corn on the cob and the pumpkin. Just a note that it's no longer a whole ear of corn as one of the pictures depicts. I would skip the yakitori unless you're following a paleo or keto diet and can't handle noodles or rice. The skewers came drenched in this cloyingly sweet teriyaki sauce that made me reach for the Brita water filter every few minutes for the rest of the night.

I really did like Norikoh's version of hiyashi chuka, which is cold buckwheat noodles, sliced up tamago, kani, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes, with a sesame-based dipping sauce. Despite my best intentions of eating only half and taking the other half for work the next day, I hoovered up the whole damn thing.

I made a reservation but you totally don't need to – the place was full but not packed. Guess the guy with the sign outside did his job.

  4. Your standard Japanese joint with sushi and entrees, but this place also has quite a selection of noodle dishes (with and without soup). Can't complain, but nothing spectacular.
We came here during lunch, and it was definitely packed with people coming on their lunch break.
Yelp check in gets you 2 free skewers! Very generous 🙂 I liked the pork belly one, but again, it was just aite.

*Zha jiang mian: the best dish out of the 3 we ordered! Noodles were chewy and sauce was a good amount of salty.

*Norikoh ramen: not a huge fan. They do give you A LOT of noodles, but the broth was too gingery and bamboo shooty for me.

*Sushi combo: 2 rolls for $11.50 with miso soup or salad. not bad, not bad. Got the salmon avocado and yellowtail with scallion rolls. Pretty small rolls, but also pretty small price.

  5. For a Saturday night, there were a couple empty tables at dinner time, but I'd recommend making a reservation to be safe. I came here with two other friends and we were seated upstairs. They have quite a few options you can choose for the yakitori combo. We tried a bunch, including pork sausage and zucchini. Not bad. Loved the salmon lover combo; the salmon was very fresh and was a reasonable price. We ended our meal with green tea and red bean ice cream. Okay taste-wise, but it seemed half melted when it was served to us. They were pretty generous with the portions though.

  6. Been seeing a guy with a sign on the street a lot. I always ignored the guy but then i finally came here one time for a late lunch / early dinner.

Barely got seated in time to order their lunch specials but i was luckily able to get a bento box. For the price point, they give you a lot of food and the food was not that bad. I had low expectations of this place, but i was pleased…especially for the price.

  7. I had my birthday dinner here last night! What a nice little gem this place is.

They were very accommodating with my reservation – the number changed a few times and it wasn't a problem.

We got a bottle of Chardonnay for the table, which was good.

I just had a California roll and an eel avocado roll. Very good rolls, but a lot of rice.

Since it was my birthday, they brought out a mango sorbet for the table with a candle in it so my friends could sing happy birthday, which was super nice of them!

Moderately priced for Manhattan and very good sushi with lots of other options too. Would recommend.

  8. I'm an AZN from SoCal, and I need a good bowl of RAMEN. I was hoping Norikoh would be a reliable spot where I wouldn't have to wait for an hour. Unfortunately not. The ramen was thoroughly mediocre, and I think the broth actually came out of a package. The egg also wasn't marinated, and the yoke crumbled. It didn't have that beautiful hybrid hard/soft texture that you want from a ramen egg. There was also only one piece of pork without the fatty chunks that make ramen pork delicious.

Quality spread on other dishes was too wide: imitation crab was gross, salmon sashimi tasted like I was eating an eraser. Spare ribs were absolutely delicious. Wings tasted like they were marinated in water. I don't like suspense — is it gonna be good, is it gonna be bad — with my meals.
