  1. A straight up classic staple in BK. Had the pickled appetizers. They were ok. The pickled pickles were VERY NY DELI. Split the Reuben. THE MEAT WAS TO DIE FOR. Yet I didn't die because I am right here typing this review. Thus the figure of speech (still good meat). Great place to come for lunch, sounds like a classic tourist place, why not. Get em in.

  2. 5 Stars for cheesecake. I do not eat here. But i do buy carrot cake for the Holidays and everyone always has something nice to say about it. This place is a bit old but it is a big deal for people who use to eat here in the 90's when it was a big deal. Maybe i should try what Biggie had and id have a review about the food.

  3. Awesome cheesecake.

Came here for breakfast, cheesecake for breakfast (when in Rome!)

The waitress passed us our menus, then we ordered tea and coffee before straight up asking for the cheesecake menu. She gave us a knowing look that I can and will only describe as a mix of respect, admiration and a hint of fear (the fear was a comedic addition, nothing can scare this woman, not even cheesecake for breakfast).

I ordered the Devils food cheesecake, my girlfriend ordered the raspberry swirl (I actually wanted that but you can't order the same thing!). The raspberry cheesecake was awesome, light, and huge. The Devils food cheesecake was enormous and delicious. All kinds of chocolatey deliciousness.

The coffee and tea were also good, but let's not pretend you or I care about that.

Definitely pop in here if you're in the area (we walked several miles to get here) and eat cheesecake.

  4. Juniors I will keep this short and sweet.  Always wanted to check this place out if I ever came to New York.  Well I'm here and since it was impossible to find parking down town New York we drove to Brooklyn and hit juniors.

This famous institution looks just as it did when I saw it on tv about 5 years ago.  The food was great I had the burger which was perfectly cooked could have used a little season but was from fresh ground beef very good overall.  The bread basket with cornbread was nice also.
Surprising the beets and coleslaw were pretty good also.   I was disappointed by the cheesecakes due to the presentation.  I was thinking they would be on the level of presentation of Cheesecake Factory but feel short of that.  I opted not to get one especially after one of the ppl That was with us stated she had it and personally preferred that other cheesecake place.

  5. great cheesecake and other baked goods .. i mean, thats what theyre famous for, right? as far as the regular dining experience goes, its just overpriced diner food for the most part. but everything in new uork is overpriced, right? i stop here when i can find a quick parking spot to bring some goodies home but not typically to sit down and dine. there are so many other offerings in brooklyn for food and jumiors isnt the best place to get bang for your buck.

  6. My mom doesn't bake. Ever. So during the holidays we'd always have a juniors cheesecake (or two or three) in the fridge that we slowly ate over weeks. (The last bite is better than the first, believe it or not.)

However, I was craving diner food and did not want to lose my parking spot so came here. It was all eh. Not bad (as in I still ate every last bite) but nothing special. The pancakes actually kind of tasted like bisquick-but I'll give these guys the benefit of the doubt and say it probably wasn't. And my pancakes and bacon was almost 14 dollars…breakfast for two with orange juice and coffee was 40 before tip…that's definitely not the diner price I was looking for either.

Really 3 stars for the meal and an extra star for cleanliness and nostalgia for those wonderful cheesecakes.

I would only recommend this place for cake (love the strawberry pie cheesecake but my dad loves the chocolate mouse cheesecake-it's been an issue in the past) and if you like traditional Jewish deli sandwiches (as in rye with tons of meat and a condiment-no frills and not my style but I know is beloved by many.)

  7. Had a meeting just around the corner, so decided to come by here with some work associates from out of town. They had all heard of Junior's but never had the opportunity to try it. Obviously we came for the cheesecake, but it was lunch time so we got sandwiches as well.

I had no idea how good their actual food was going in. I got a combo Ruben (pastrami / corned beef) and it was very good. So good I'd probably come here even if it weren't for the cheesecake. They gave a huge bowl of Russian dressing on the side, so you can add to your preference. I like Russian a lot, but only like a little on a Ruben, so I greatly appreciated that. Others had different Rubens and a turkey club – great reviews all around.

Then for the cheesecake – the best there is. They don't have quite the 'specialty' options that some places have (thinking along the lines of cheesecake factory), but they do have a bunch of options and they are all light years better than anywhere else. I've never had a piece of cheesecake that's a quarter as good as they have here.

All in all a great experience. They seemed a little understaffed, even though it was a pretty quiet lunchtime, so it took a little longer than we would have liked.

  8. I've heard so many great things about Junior's cheesecakes and thankfully I live a few minutes away.

I've tried the mini ones you can find at grocery stores, but I knew I had to try a legitimate slice.  The strawberry cheesecake was good but it wasn't amazing. The crust was similar to pie crust, which isn't what I was expecting. And the cake itself was way too dense.

If you're in the mood for cheesecake, I definitely recommend Junior's but I've tried better (surprisingly at typical NJ diners).

I really like the atmosphere, nonetheless. I could definitely see myself eating here during my college years after a late-night study session or a night out with friends.
