  1. I do not get the fascination with this chain. Our waiter was not attentive, he forgot silverware, so my soup, however good, was hard to eat without a spoon. My guest had a soft boiled egg that was raw. 1 uncooked egg, 1 soup without a spoon and $15 dollars later, I left a bit jipped and wondering what I ultimately consumed. Why is this place so expensive?

  2. I've stopped here a few times when in the neighborhood and find the service to be completely scattered and SLOW. I mean SLOW. I take my coffee as basic as it gets – black. I've just learned you can screw that order up 2x in one go.  The pastries and food are the standard for Le Pain Quotidien, but the service at this location is completely unappetizing.

  3. Have been wanting to try out LPQ for quite a while now since I pass by it every time I walk to work but I've been avoiding it like the plague since I've heard that the food is way overpriced. But, considering the (lack of edible) food options available at work, I decided to give this place a try. LPQ is separated into two sections; the front is for take-out/walk-ins and the inside is for those who want table service. One thing I noticed is that there's no menu readily available anywhere in the front area so you sort of have to know in advance what you want to order. The service/cashier was ehh. She didn't really give off a nice vibe, a huge contrast to the nice ambiance that the decor of the store gave off. Additionally, while waiting for my food, she just disappeared and a customer who just stepped in didn't know who to order from and just left.

So I got the avocado toast and thought it tasted great. The bread was toasted perfectly and the avocado on top was delectable. However, it was $11 for a medium-sized portion which I found absolutely ridiculous. There's no way avocado on top of a few slices of toast is worth this much. It also came with a kale salad but I didn't like it because they didn't put the right dressing on it :/

I would say LPQ has pretty good/healthy options. But the price tags are just way too unreasonable. Really wanted to come back to try some of the other items that they offer such as their quiche but I don't think my wallet will be happy if I do…

  4. LPQ is a great chain. I've eaten at this chain all over the country, and this one is no exception. It has a huge seating area in the back. The ambience is rustic and comfortable. Service is always good.

Menu is your standard LPQ one, where everything is fresh and well-prepared. This time I got the Cobb Salad (delicious and large) as well as the Chia seed pudding (I always get this at LPQ). The coffee also comes in a small pot, which is equivalent to two cups. I recommend everything on the menu…I don't think I've had anything bad.

  5. Solid little chain in NYC for a casual brunch.  Went with the wife while visiting NYC when our hotel's breakfast eatery was jam packed.

Servers were friendly and efficient.  Brunch selections were diverse and yummy.

The bread at this place is incredible, as are the assorted jams, Nutella, etc.

  6. The service is consistently bad.   This is such a shame because the food is excellent.

The place needs new leadership.  There's no strong point of view on how best to serve the customer.  I practically had to beg the waiter for coffee this morning.  The coffee when it came I think is the best I've had in NYC.

The chicken soup I had this morning was the BEST I've ever had without doubt.

  7. Love the quiche and salad! Always good every time. Bread is always fresh and coffee is great. menu is seasonal so they don't always have the best options that I like. My negative is that their sides are just as pricey as a main dish and they give you the smallest portions. Would recommend for quick breakfast. My daughter loves it here

  8. This is my neighborhood staple. I always step here to get croissants in the morning or get any of their really nice tasting pastries. They also have a nice selection of breads, I really like their sourdough. They have decent espresso drinks. Everything they serve is organic and you know you are putting something good into your system.

My absolute favorite pastry here is the pistachio tart.

For brunch I really like having their frittatas. They also have a really nice avocado toast. The bakers lunch is a good option when you want to have a healthy and light lunch.

The service is always friendly and attentive, especially when I sit down and eat. They are a bit expensive for the kind of food they serve but like I said it's good for you.
