I'm surprised by all the negative reviews because the buffalo wings were pretty freaking good. I wasn't expecting anything gourmet but my expectations were met. THe wings were well cooked and the sauce i ordered was very spicy. I ordered my food from seamless and it arrived within 15 minutes. No complaints.
Another new food destination in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, but sadly it's been nothing but slow and poor quality at Buffalo Boss.
My co-worker warned me that the wait for food would take a long time. I went around 1PM on a Friday afternoon, thinking the wait wouldn't be long or bad at all.
The line to order and pay for the food moved quick, but the line to wait for your food is another story. Customers that ordered their food in advanced by phone and in-person waited forever and was asking for refunds on their food and etc. The amount of time that I waited for sweet potato fries was horrendous! I waited at most 20 minutes for the damn sweet potato fries. I thought if I waited this long, it better be damn good, but far from it.
After I got back to my office, the sweet potato fries were hot and steamy, but soggy! Oh gosh. I was hoping it would be sweet, crunchy, and crispy, but SOGGY? Seriously?
Buffalo Boss is a new establishment and you would expect they would shine with their food, but they seriously need to step up their "A" game.
Earlier tonight, I get a spam text on my phone from this business being SUPERBOWL READY . I have never been here (and based on the pictures of the sorry snot sticks they insist on calling wings, I'd be best suited to keep things that way). I also do not watch American football. So the question stands, how did they get my info? The answer is probably a very simple one.
They purchased some sort of list to spam and shamelessly sent texts out from a bot. Does that sound like a restaurant you want to go to? No x 100000.
EDIT : Ok, now after reading their other reviews, this seems like EXACTLY the kind of desperate move an awful, failing restaurant would make.
You heard the story before, a place that should get 3 stars but due to their lack of execution I have to deduct a star.
As far as the place goes (the building) I like it. Small space but they're using the space well. There's some seating to eat at (limited ), a couple TVs. Simple but effective set up. I also loved the Hip Hop music they were playing, Kendrick, Kanye, etc. Unfortunately They started off on the wrong foot this morning. I was the first customer in here and it's clear they could have done a better job cleaning the place. The First thing I noticed upon sitting down was that the napkin dispenser was dirty with ketchup stains all over it. Overall the place could use a little more attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness. Another thing I didn't like is when I ordered my food I was not asked if it was to go or dine in. When the food came out it was packaged up like a take out order in a paper bag. Maybe they prefer you don't dine in?
The wings: Not Good. I had Lemon Pepper & Buffalo. I get it wings are expensive to buy nowadays and you've always have to add in that "everything in New York City is over priced" factor. But if I'm going to pay $13 and some change for a dozen wings they better be damn good. If I said these were mediocre I would be exaggerating. to start they were overcooked. Some of the wings were really dry. The buffalo wings were not thoroughly coated in sauce and the lemon pepper didn't have a particularly profound lemon pepper flavor. Not the worst wings I have ever had but definitely lack luster. And to make matters worse after paying $13 for lunch I was still hungry.
Overall Buffalo boss was disappointing. The food is expensive and subpar. I wouldn't complain if I got some excellent wings for my $13. Instead I left hungry and dissatisfied. If you want some good wings at this price point just go to wing stop.
Do they go to Buffalo to get the chicken for every order. The wait for my order was entirely too long. It took about 10 minutes to tell me they didn't have the flavor sauce for my tenders. Then another 20 minutes to get the next sauce put on. I was offered an apology. Thanks, But I Will Try A Different Location.
The fries were very crispy .. delicious actually! I also ordered the BBQ wings, they were literally DRENCHED in BBQ sauce. It was everywhere! No matter how hard I tried, it still ended up all over my hands and parts of my face unexpectedly.
I was actually walking around Brooklyn shortly after and I thought that I removed all evidence of eating the wings — I got on the subway and looked at the window reflection of BBQ sauce still on my face! Only me! Hey, they were good though!
I wish a moist wipe came with their pre-made packet of plastic silverware, ketchup and a napkin. More napkins please! POR FAVOR! You can't have that much sauce on your wings and expect someone to only use a single napkin included in the pre-made sandwich baggy.
This place literally has about two tables, so there is no where to sit. Luckily the weather was nice and I was able to sit in that public area with picnic tables next to Shake Shack.
For the price, not bad food. Try it take out only though.
The wings here are not good. I've had them once and that was more than enough.
However, I am a fan of their french fries and have made numerous trips to just get fries. And I've always had good customer service.
