I'm on fire and I lustify for chocolate and can't put it any simpler than that!
I don't want to give you the wrong impression and tell you that Le Pain's heart lies on solely chocolate, (because it doesn't) but I do feel compelled to make a note that they have a cool selection of chocolate tidbits such as chocolate croissants- that are oozing with the smoothest chocolate cream, chocolate cookies and chocolate tarts that are heavenly and melt in your mouth.
And since I'm on a chocolate journey, I need to point out, that Le Pain will hook you up with the best Belgian Hot Cocoa imagined! Their hot cocoa is dark, creamy from first to last sip. No Swiss Miss here or imitation "hot cocoa".
Le Pain Quotidien's focus is just not on their chocolate goodies. Aside from their chocolate heaveness, Le Pain Quotidien has an awesome selection of breakfast and lunch-dinner items to satisfy any palate- my particular favorite is their vegetable quiche with a side of mixed greens with the lightest lemon vinaigrette (sans mustard) that I always grab.
Le Pain, is like your all-in-one eatery with a really nice and comfortable atmosphere to eat and maybe lounge. Service is standard and honestly, the few times I've been there, it never lacks.
All I know is, that my chocolate lustification has been satisfied.
Rye Location…
I went with my 12 year old daughter for lunch. You can sit at either the take out side or the sit down communal side. We did a two top at the sit down communal side.
Love the salads they had on their menu. My daughter had the buffalo mozzarella and the shaved parmesan. Awesome. I had the lentil something salad that I would not have ordered in a million years but just wanted to try something so different from my stapes and I love it. My daughter who looked disgusted at it tasted it and loved it as well.
We had some of the fresh bread and just enjoyed ourselves. For dessert we split the Belgian Brownie that was fantastic. I'm a fan for sure and will visit again if I am ever in the area.
I've eaten at many Le Pain Quotidien locations both in the USA & Europe.
The Menu is excellent but unfortunately the Rye "Le Pain" has the worst service I've experienced. I live in Rye but avoid this location after many acquaintances and I have all experienced the slow, disinterested attitude of the staff here. Cracked and broken cups and bowls are NOT acceptable, nor is waiting more than 15 minutes just to be given a menu. The last time I came here I ended walking out and going elsewhere for breakfast. I for one will not be back.
Try The Stamford location by Wayfair Supermarket. Much better.
