  1. I had my usual (no. 4: spinach, mushroom, goat cheese, basil)  along with coffee.

Terrific coffee and when they put in cream, it's frothy without being a cappuccino or latte.
I have only gone to Soho location but wanted to walk a lot my last day here for 2 months (sniff, sniff).

I am feeling nostalgic, having spent so much time on the UWS during years dancing.

It's so charming on Columbus from 65th to 75th.

Sigh… It's so hard to leave New York!

  2. A cozy, solid option if you're around Lincoln Center. I'm not a full-on crepe lover, but this place was quite alright for my liking. Should I end up having a crepe craving, I'll come on down.

(!) WHAT I GOT: The #9, Chicken, gruyere, pesto, tomato, and spinach ($9.50)

(!) HOW IT DID: I wasn't really expecting much but I found it good. The crepe fell apart for me, so I had to really strategize each bite. All in all, each bite was alright, and the ingredients tasted pretty fresh–save for the chicken, which was a tad bit dry.

(!) SEATING: Two seater tall stools with tall tables abound (say that fast!), with tables and bathrooms downstairs via a snazzy spiral staircase.

(!) TIDBITS: Would definitely give this place another go if I'm hungering around Lincoln Center… a fine alternative to the other, seemingly pricey spots in the area. My cousin also got the #2, ham and gruyere ($9), which seemed to hold up better. I'd get that one and honestly, recommend that over the #9!

  3. I bumped into this place while walking to train. The aroma from the crepes sucked me in. I had to step into the tiny restaurant and see/smell what was going on in here. It's a tiny location but there is seating. The crepes are made fresh and you are able to watch every step. The chef at the time was not too happy with me recording her while she made our crepe but that's understandable. The price is very high for a single crepe but the texture was perfect, and the dulce and strawberries added the right amount of sweetness and they crepes themselves were rather large. I definately will be back and I will try a savory crepe but I highly recommend adding strawberries and banaas to your crepe if you plan on stopping by.

  4. I have never had a crepe before trying one here a few weeks ago. This was a good baptismal into the crepe pool. We were in NYC for a taping of the show "The Chew" down the street at the ABC Studios and needed something to hold us over until lunch so we poped in here. The guy behind the counter was super nice and very friendly as we searched the menu high and low for a 'Safe' choice as a crepe virgin lol. I decided on the Ham and Gruyere crepe and I have to say, it was a great choice. They serve the crepe wrapped up like a giant ice cream cone. I added a little ketchup to it and it was really good. I think they were a little pricy, but took their location in NYC as a factor because I'm sure their rent is sky high. You kind of know ahead of time that most things in NYC are a bit more money than they are in most cities. If we ever go back for another tv taping, Vive Le Crepe will be our first stop.

  5. My friend and I wandered into this place on NYE as we were looking for something warm and fuzzy before the Midnight Run in Central Park. As most other places weren't open in the evening of NYE, but this place was, we came in and I was pleasantly surprised.

The girl behind the counter seemed very bored and didn't get our whole order. Maybe her mind was elsewhere being it was NYE and all, but still.  Had to go back up and get the coffee that I ordered.

They have a nice variety of crepes, from the most basic, to more common Nutella crepe, to just about any kind of gourmet goodness you could get inside a crepe. We split the standard crepe which was pretty delicious. Just the right amount of sugar and butter. And it came nicely wrapped up in case you needed it to go.

The place is small, with a few tables upstairs and a few tables downstairs, and a bathroom downstairs. The place was clean and the décor was adorable. Definitely a good place to give a try if you need something on the go, or looking for some dessert.

  6. My Phat Phoodie Breakfast continued with Breakfast #3…. at Vive Le Crepe. We ordered the #7 with raclette cheese, proscuitto and potatoes. And since I was planning on eating Breakfast #4 and #5 before moving on to lunch #1 (all in one day….) we split the crepe amongst three of us. Passing it around in circles each taking a bite a la smoking a joint style.

Service was fast and prompt. Minus one star for minimal seating and no one actually coming around to wipe the tables after we're done.

  7. Vive la Crepe is very fun.  The crepes are tasty and the staff are very pleasant.  It's not terribly large, but there is usually seating.

  8. Good variety and options for sweet and savory crepes. From smoked salmon to turkey in savory crepes to nutella and strawberry / blueberry toppings in the sweet ones. Great option for a quick snack. Would recommend a try
