  1. I ordered delivery through Eat24 (a Yelp service). First, the delivery time listed on the app was way off — which means the restaurant marked it as "ready for delivery" 15 minutes too early, or the delivery guy was slower than expected. (It's the restaurant that provides expected delivery times, not Eat24 staff itself).

The delivery guy called me when he arrived and spoke in such a muffled way that I could hardly hear what he was saying. He seemed to be interrogating me but apparently he was just telling me he was downstairs. When I picked up the food he said "give me tip," which is extremely rude. He pointed to the delivery printout saying that tips were in cash — if he had just done that, and politely suggested that I could pay in cash, instead of forcibly demanding one — I would have been more inclined to give him one. I'm trying to limit my expenses so I don't usually tip on delivery. Yes, this is improper too, but there are more polite ways for a delivery person to ask for compensation.

  2. Nice buffet. Me and my boss stumbled upon this place while working. Very nice inside clean,  the furniture nice, decent service and the food was good. The mango lassie was also very good. Nice buffet in the Jackson Heights/Elmhurst section of Queens.

  3. We came for dinner, not the lunch buffet, and we thought the food was fantastic. The samosas had such a crispy, flaky and flavorful crust. The chicken makhani was also great. The chicken was moist and tender and the sauce was as good as Moti Mahal Delux, our other favorite. Plus the service is great– friendly in a very low key way and they play good Indian pop music. I'm curious to try some of the Indo-Chinese dishes on the menu.

  4. Dinner review, have yet to try the buffet.

Whatever crack it is they put in their food, I'm totally into it. The dishes that the curry mains are served in look small, but they are dense with fixins and sauce and you'll lick the plate clean even though you're burstingly full. Chicken korma was the best dish, even though it was the simplest. The naans are cooked fresh and you'll need them to sop up all the delicious sauces.

You even get papad to start!

They are also very very good at cooking indo-chinese food and I will come back to try more. I had the dry style gobi manchurian and was blown away. Great option in Jackson Heights, and so much better than the $12.95 buffets on 74th St. You pay just a little more, maybe $15-$16 per person, but you can choose exactly what you want, it's cooked fresh, and the difference in quality is so noticeable!

Would love to return for the buffet to see if they are better than other buffets.

  5. In our 1st attempt to conquer the Indian lunch buffet haven that is 74th Street in Jackson Heights, my girlfriend and I decided to tackle Delhi Heights on a random Saturday afternoon. We arrived rather early at around 12pm (opening is 11:30am) and the restaurant was nearly empty with just 1 other table occupied. From the pictures, the restaurant seemed bigger, but as with many pictures, they are deceiving! I do want to point out that during our 1 hour of gorging here, the stream of people coming in increased as the afternoon wore on and when we left at 1pm about 1/3 of the restaurant was 'full'.

So let's get to the saucy part, unfortunately not literally, but figuratively – on an overall level, yes the lunch buffet was cheap as hell at $11.95/person from 11:30am-4pm, but the food quality was really not great and was rather bland. Some dishes were OK and others were not flavorful or too liquidity. Here's what was available at the buffet and YES we tried EVERY SINGLE one of these dishes during the buffet to get a feel of what was good and what wasn't:

    NAAN
You must ask for this at your table as it is not displayed with the buffet food. Just your typical naan, except it was not warm, but at least it was free.

    VEGETABLE SOMASA
The potato inside was good, but it was a bit dry. It's a nice starter, however don't have it late in your meal when your stuffed because I felt it didn't taste as good then. Don't forget to add the chick pea sauce.

    TANDOORI CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE MIX
The chicken was tender and pretty flavorful, but the sausage was just OK. The chicken was served in pretty big pieces, while the sausage was cut up.

    WHITE RICE
Very disappointing. Not cooked very well and was inconsistent throughout. It was bland and did not taste like basmati rice. All the curry being offered could not make me forget about the blandness of this rice.

    VEGETABLE FRIED RICE
All of the same problems as the white rice. A bit more flavor because of the veggies and being fried, but still wasn't great.

    CHICKEN HAKKA NOODLES
Were a bit more consistent than the rices and had more flavoring. However, it was not that warm, which detracted from the flavor.

    GOBI MATAR
This was way too watered down. Recipes call for this to be a bit mushy, but it was basically a dish of vegetables lying in soup. This was the most watery dish of them all.

    CHILI CHICKEN
Chicken was soft and tender, but the sauce was watery and not dense enough. If you've had sweet and sour Chinese pork, then you will love this though.

    GOAT CURRY
Once again the sauce was a bit watery and not solid enough. It felt like I was pouring soup onto my rice when I added some on my plate. The flavors were OK, but nothing great.

    CHICKEN MAKKAN
Best dish at the buffet by far! The chicken was cooked well and the sauce was excellent. The sauce was actually saucy and not soupy and it had great flavoring.

    PALAK PANEER
One of my favorite dishes at Indian restaurants, but this was too liquidity and not creamy enough. If the spinach curry was more dense this dish would have been very good.

    GAJAR HALWA
We were way too full to enjoy this dessert, which was the only one offered, but I loved the little bit that I had of this. The almond flavor was real strong and very evident with each bite. If you love almond flavored desserts, you will love this.

You get my drift going through many of the foods. To summarize, most of the buffet foods were bland, watery and could've used extra flavoring. The one major food highlight was the Chicken Makkan, but it wasn't enough to save this disappointing buffet. The entire food experience was 2.5 stars, but since the service was very good and the waiters were real attentive with filling our water I added an extra  1/2 star for their hospitality.

  6. Went here to try their $9.95 buffet on a Sunday afternoon. Walked in at around 3:30 pm (buffet closes t 4:00), so we were already quite late. Regardless, we were seated and we went straight to the buffet.

There weren't too many things on the buffet menu (we like it this way) although, from what was there, only Chicken Tikka Masala stood out. They had a grill which was quite empty (guessing it was the time) but they should've served us because we were paying full price for the buffet! There are equal dishes Veg & Non-Veg. Tried the Palak Paneer, which is just about OK. In Non-Veg, Chicken Tikka Masala definitely stands out. Perhaps one of the best tasting dish as compared to everything else.

The Goat Curry was looking good too, just didn't try it.

Overall; it wasn't too disappointing, but wasn't anything great either. At $9.95, the buffet is definitely reasonably priced!

  7. Great Indian spot. Very lively, really nice service, and the prices are pretty good. Oh, and the food is delicious.

We got various chicken and lamb curries, some naan, and samosas. Nicely sized servings, lots of flavor, all the meat was tender; really, not one complaint with the food.

Definitely my new go to Indian spot.

  8. Best buffet in this area. It is cheaper, and the food is good enough as a buffet. They make naan or roti for every customer. I also like their goat curry and chili chicken a lot. The staff is very friendly. Great place for a quick lunch.
