  1. Above-average crepes, served S L O W L Y.

Joined the queue at Gansevoort Market for an impuse crepe, which ended up a good idea.  Two hipster crepe artists spun the irons, making mostly perfectly browned – though sometimes torn – crepes.  And no corners were cut, as the growing group of customers soon learned.

Stuck with the classics and ordered with strawberry and Nutella, and was overjoyed to see purpose-made Nutella holsters/warmers alongside the irons.  Also offered were the "specials" including a smorgasbord of savory toppings including ham, vegetables, cheeses, etc.  These cost a ton.  This is unnecessary.

Next time, will put the (regular, gluten-heavy) crepe to the ultimate test:  butter and sugar only.

  2. I had a delicious peach marmalade with vanilla bean from here. Very authentic (to the best of my knowledge, never been to France) and it was quite large! Did not finish it but enjoyed trying something sweet after the shuffle along the high line.

  3. Delicate and chewy crepes that are reminiscent of authentic Parisian crepes can be enjoyed here! The staff are very meticulous with their craft and beckon all those perusing through Gansevoort market because the open concept set-up provides full view of their snazzy crepe manipulation skills.

  4. Crepe Sucre makes the Gansevoort Market smell goood.  More importantly, the crepe I got was delicious.  Perfectly chewy and light.  They offer a gluten-free option too.  I decided to skip the popular, but typical, Nutella and banana combo and opted for the more unique lavender sugar choice.  Was so good!  Only downside is that you'll probably have to wait on line to get your crepe–the place is popular.

  5. Gluten free options before both savory and sweet crepes!! Delicious and authentic – plus they made a point to thoroughly clean off the crepe cooking surface and switch gloves.

Watching my crepe be prepared was meticulous and artistic – everything from the slow spread of the batter to the deliberate way each slice of banana were placed on the crepe was really wonderful. Plus my banana Nutella gluten free crepe tasted as good as it looked!

Great little spot in the bustling and adorable Gansevoort market – it's dangerous to know such a sweet tooth satisfier is so close to my office
