  1. They have avocado poppers on the appetizer menu, and you need to get it.  They're so good.  The corn succotash is great as well.  The portions are really big, and you'll likely need to doggy bag your leftovers.  I had the biscuits and gravy because I don't think I've ever tried that before.  I have to say the biscuits were out of this world.  So moist and flakey, it was the highlight of that dish.  The scrambled eggs were a nice touch, but I didn't care for the potatoes since the entire dish was a carb haven, that the additional starch was unnecessary.  My husband got the burnt ends brisket entree.  I tried a piece, but felt it was a bit on the sweet side and too wet.  Overall, the food was very satisfying, but probably not the most delicious BBQ I've ever had.  Pricing is a bit steep as well.  They have a huge selection of craft beer, and the place gets rowdy and loud, but service is excellent.

    3.5 stars.

This BBQ restaurant has some great Happy Hour deals for $10:

    2 Tacos + Modelo
Mac n Cheese Balls + Yeungling
    Dixie Burger + Budweiser
8 Naked Wings + Founders All Day IPA
    BBQ Pizza + Sam Adams

I used my Whiskey Passport to get one of their signature cocktails. I opted for something different. The Seelbach is a cocktail is named after the Louisville Kentucky Hotel that created it.  It contains Four Roses Bourbon/Champagne/Cointreau/Bitters served in a flute with a radioactive Maraschino Cherry.

  3. On one of my typical Smorgasburg / WBurg romps my buddy convinced us to head to Northern Bell for drink after.  Since I do not know BK very well I just followed like the sheep that I am.  I loved the rustic feel and the outdoor space.  Definitely a chill spot.

We ordered a bunch of wings and drinks.  I could have housed a ton of those wings.  They are bomb.  We spent a while shooting it with both Chris and Tina behind the bar.  They are awesome.  I felt like a regular within 20 minutes of being in there.

If not for the drinks, the food, the atmosphere just come here to hang out with some dope bartenders.  Well actually that would be weird.  You should probably order something.

  4. It was Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend and since we both had Monday off, my boyfriend and I were just wandering around the neighborhood for a place to grab a beer around 11:30pm that wasn't too divey. Despite my indifference to beer, he prefers beer and craft beers over wine so I figured I'd appease him this time around since a lot of the wine bars were closed. We came across Northern Bell because I remember walking by and seeing that they had over 100 beers available. We chose something on draft: Old Chub Scotch Ale and ACBC Alpha Male IPA. I liked both but especially liked the ACBC. The bartender was also very friendly and the music was good. The atmosphere is clean and not divey at all. I'd come again for a beer and maybe some bbq if it's earlier in the day.

  5. My goal is to try all the bars and restaurant around Graham Stop train, the area were I live. However Nothern Bell was missing on my list. I don't know why I felt repel about this place on yelp ( well I think it's because I thought it was some kind of crowded sport bar). Anyway, My roommate conveinced me to go there as she really really wanted to get the Mac&Cheese! I went just for a salad and i was very happy with the food but also the vibe of the place. It is not a sport bar ( even though they have TV which I hate) but people were cool, drinking a beer.
I was definitely happy to try the place and will come back to try the Brunch!

  6. Northern Bell is super homey restaurant, just off the Lorimer Stop on the L train.  I only stopped in for quick drink as I waited for friends, but the friendly staff had me ordering frickles as they debated which dishes were their favorites.  Was it the pull pork, maybe it's the burger, how about the biscuits & gravy!  Arrrggh!  I have to come back and sample all of their tastiness.  They also have a rotating selection of craft beers as well as top shelf whiskeys.

  7. I've been here a couple of times,  but wanted to wait to review. I came in on a rainy Saturday with a friend. I've really enjoyed the brunch before and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the frittata with anduille sausage and it was great, a wee bit dry, but great. We both ordered a cup of coffee, which for whatever reason was not on point that day, and when we complained about it they took it off our bill no problem. That's customer service for you!

My sister also had her baby shower here a year ago and we have a great experience in the back room. For a medium sized even – 10 to 15 people – I would definitely recommend. I've seen some of the other review on the food, it can be a bit hit or miss, but generally I would say I've had a solid experience. And when it comes to a beer on a hot day (if those days ever return to the city) the Bell is always a solid option.

  8. We came in on July 4th to satisfy our BBQ cravings. I loved the laidback feel of the outdoor seating, but not much else about Northern Bell. We were one of the few people there, but it took around 50-60 mins for our food to be served (even the side of green beans)! I was getting pretty antsy waiting as I was starving! When the food came, I was so disappointed. The ribs were so dry and over cooked, some parts were so burnt that it was inedible. The bed of fries underneath were not bad. We also shared a fried chicken and biscuit dish which was mediocre. The biscuit to chicken ratio was way off (too many biscuits, not enough chicken), and the fried chicken lacked juiciness and flavor. The maple banana sauce it came with was too desserty tasting! We ended up dunking EVERYTHING in their house barbeque sauce which was so amazing! Basically, you will find yourself using the sauce to mask the flavor of terrible food.
