Island Spice Grill is a company that serves grilled food via a food truck. The Island Spice Grill food truck travels to various boroughs (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, etc) and services people with a variety of grilled food such as Jerk Chicken, Jerk Pork, and Brisket.
I had the pleasure of eating and thoroughly enjoying Brisket with Salad and they also give you a slice of bread. I have been anticipating trying the food and was eager once I got my food order…..As soon as I opened my styrofoam container, I saw the Brisket swimming in lemon pepper seasoning and I took my first bite. The Brisket was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! The Brisket was moist, juicy and succulent!!!! The salad was great and the bread was soft, chewy and tasty!!!!
I cannot say enough great things about the food and I am looking forward to trying new selections on their menu the next time such as their grilled corn, their fish and their lobster (they only serve the fish and lobster at catered events).
This is one of the best food trucks I've ever had. When I say 'truck', I mean a black Escalade pulling around a huge oil drum grill. You can usually find it on on Broad St between Beaver and Pearl. Just follow the smell and look for the long line of people.
The food: I've had the Brisket and Jerk Chicken. Both were perfect. Smoky, spicy, juicy, and tender. The ample portion of meat is served on a bed of mixed salad greens and corn.
The service: They are very polite and friendly. There are a couple people working the line, helping it move quickly, someone on the grill, and a guy standing behind a big wood block with a meat cleaver, chopping away. They've been playing Bob Marley every time I've been so you get to jam out to that while waiting on what will likely be a long line.
I'll def be going here regularly. And after bringing our food back to the office and having the smell take over our floor, my curious and hungry coworkers will be doing so as well.
