  1. I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world so I never thought I would say this, but everything I ordered was, dare I say it,  too sweet. The menu was overwhelming so I went straight for the Oreo pancakes because I'm a huge Oreo fan, and then opted for the pancake milkshake, which was recommended  to me. I prefer the thickness of a shake shack milkshake. I also thought the Oreos would be baked inside the pancake the way that chocolate chips are baked inside a pancake. This was not so.

DONT ORDER THE OREO PANCAKES YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. What you will get are four large thin but fluffy pancakes with some Oreos sprinkled over the top. I got sunny side down eggs on top which was the best part of that but with the syrup they were also too sweet. Which is saying A LOT coming from me.
We also ordered the monkey bread to start which was by far the best bar of the entire meal. So moist. So soft. Melted cinnamon strussel and sugar on the top and pulled apart like butter. My mouth waters thinking about it.
The where is bob? sandwich us unreal! Eggs cheese bacon hash brown in one sandwich.. Need I say more? Oh and crispy tater tots. Overall,!It was so good that I didn't just eat my meal. Ate half of the other persons meal I was with! I want to return to try more of the savory options.

  2. Came here on a Saturday around 1130. Great old fashioned diner in the heart of union square. They have 2 levels but not too much seating- I sat at the bar. Of course, got the bacon, egg, cheese and hashbrowns on a waffle (Bow wow wow). Sprinkled some syrup on that and split fries and tots with my friend… AMAZING. This meal is big enough to share and they have TONS of milkshake flavors (pancake, cotton candy, black and white cookie, etc.) and even some with alcohol.

Service sucked and drinks are pretty expensive but a good spot to have… always need a good diner in the big city. Also, they have coloring sheets for the kiddies and my friend and I got because why not.

  3. I LOOOOVE Big Daddy's.  Gramercy is in Guam for me.  I came here for a trivia night.  It's far too touristy and way too social for this old fart.  I frequent the Big Daddy's on UWS.  So much more my speed.  But good eats, drinks and shakes.  Can't go wrong w/ Big Daddy's.

  4. Been here a bunch, often for breakfast, sometimes for take out or late night.
The food is pretty good, their chicken sandwich is really good, everything else I've gotten (eggs, burger, hot dogs, fries, etc.) is decent, but nothing to write home about. Service can be a little slow when it's crowded and it is overpriced for what it offers. Better options in the area, but still not a bad spot at all.

  5. okay, okay. are there a few locations of this place? yes. is the "diner theme" sort of corny? I can see why you would think that.  that being said, I'm picking up what the daddy's putting down.  First, the boozy brunch deal–no need to wait for saturday and sunday cuz you can get it anytime. Second, the food–its classic american fare like you read about: bacon, eggs, chicken, waffles, creative breakfast sandwiches (see the bow wow wow) and burgers (see the daddy-o burger).  Third, TATER TOTS.  I LOVE TATER TOTS. Fourth, shakes and desserts–so many sweet-tooth satisfying options.  Lastly, we came with a big group and they delivered: all orders correct, things brought out in a timely manner.  Just don't expect traditional diner prices and I think its possible to find Big Daddy's pretty fun.

  6. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the live jazz music during brunch. The bloody mary was spicy and good. The Eggs Benedict were amazing as were the biscuits, goat cheese grits and andouille hash! We tried several desserts and our favorites were peanut butter and jelly pie, bananas foster and key lime pie.

The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star review was because when my sister in law ordered chicken and waffles without cheese (who puts cheese on it anyway?) they gave her a waffle with cheese. She politely told them it was a mistake so they took it back and just scraped off the cheese and gave it back. I don't think the waitress was aware of it but we thought it was rude since it was the kitchen's mistake in the first place. Then someone comes out to ask if she is allergic to the cheese or just doesn't like it. Who cares? She asked for no cheese, you melt the cheese on top and then scrape it off and think it's acceptable? Nope sorry. She ended up ordering something completely different.

  7. Randomly found this brunch place and it surpassed my expectations. Got the 2×4 breakfast and even their 7 grain roast tasted different and good. They give you tots with the meal! It's rare diners do that. You can add chili and cheese to the tots 🙂 everything was flavorful and delish! Will def come back to try other things like their burgers!

  8. Expect to spend $15-$20 per person.  For a diner, that's in the okay not okay range but for Big Daddy's that's just okay.

I ate the turkey wrap w avocado + bacon(sub turkey bacon).  It was BOMB.COM   – it did have a gross pickle taste at first, then I saw pickles on the side. It's a diner thing, either they were inside or they touched the wrap.

The wrap was huge — filling — and tasty.  I couldn't really taste the "special sauce" they added to it so I made my own little Russian dressing on the plate (ketchup/mayo).

The tots were crispy on the outside — perfectly TOT-Y on the inside, paired with my Russian dressing .COM

I did ask for water with lemon… there was brown sugar on the table so I made lemonade!!! Great idea $0.00 — While my gf paid $4 for her lemonade.

THE INTERIOR was really interesting, modern/classic diner vibe. Colors, and cool walls, and ceilings. Ask to be seated in the next room to the left.
