Junior Rosenberry
I remember when this location was a Pretzel shop, now it is Chubby's Chicken and Burger. Part of me is sad at the lack of appreciation of pretzels in Brooklyn (it's okay, the Philly girl in me will always eat them). The other part of me is ordering more of their hot wings.
The bf and I stopped by and ordered the hot wings, the crispy chicken sandwich, fries, and onion rings. I mean basically it was fast food but boy, they did it right. The hot wings were fried so crispy yet not dried out. They are pretty small though. The French fries were perfectly cooked and of the shoestring variety.
The onion rings were okay, not great. And the chicken sandwich could have been passed on. The meal was a bit pricey but those wings..
The hot wings were not spicy btw. There were a few sauces and we used a hot sauce (which was like a mixture of chili sauce and frank's red hot).
The fried chicken here had to be one of my favorite things to eat in the area. There is nothing necessarily unique in what goes into it, but it's always perfectly crispy, juicy and not heavily battered or unnecessarily greasy. 20 pieces with fries and a drink for 15 bucks? I don't know how they're going to afford keeping prices low but the rate I keep ordering from them I'm sure it's because they know this stuff is crack.
