  1. This place was quite a nice breakfast spot. Not too busy for a Sunday brunch, but it was a holiday weekend, so maybe the usual crowd was out of town. My only regret is not getting the pancakes (though the scrambled eggs with salmon was quite good, I had a taste of my wife's pancakes and those were definitely the real stand-out).

  2. My kid loves it here so do I. The panacakes are done well and so fluffy. The sausage are always nice and hot and the eggs i always get them fried. Only been there for brunch. The drinks are good and you leave out of there full. Its always crowded there for brunch. Its a small but the wait is never that long and there's never really a rush to get you up once you are seated. The waffles are good too. Good place to go whether with your kid or on a date and prices are afforadble. Take cash because credit cards are not accepted

  3. I tried this place with my husband a couple years ago and then popped by again a few months ago with my parents, grandmother, and sister for a quick lunch. Although it was a weekday, the place was packed at lunchtime, but once we were added to the list, it moved fairly quickly. As others have emphasized, the pancakes are fluffy, delectable–excellent. We all ordered entree salads but also got a single pancake to share. I highly recommend this plan. Of the salads, the chickpea and grilled tiger shrimp salads were big hits, but my tuna Niçoise salad basically had canned tuna and was fairly underwhelming.

Pros: delicious pancake and most salads, food came out very quickly.

    Cons: Niçoise salad.

Overall, a more delicious experience than the last time we came here a few years ago, but still not a place I would make an effort to come back to again and again. If I were in the area, though, and needed a fairly quick lunch (OR A PANCAKE), this would be a safe bet.

  4. My boyfriend and I came in a little after opening time (8 am) and the place was already almost full. We were able to nab one of the last tables and shortly after, there was a line out the door. The place isn't very big and the seating is very tight. Be prepared to sit elbow to elbow with a stranger, and if you're sitting on the inside, you'll have to shimmy your way out through the tables.

For this brunch session, I went with the omelette with bacon and tomato. The bacon was overcooked, borderline burnt. It wasn't bad overall but it was just mediocre. I feel like I could make something better at home and isn't that one of the reasons to eat out? So that you can try foods that taste better than the way you make them? So not the case at Cafe Luluc.

I rarely venture to this area because it's dumb far for me. But even if I happened to be in the area again, I wouldn't come back. There are plenty of other brunch places in this area that I'm sure are better.

  5. Another for the French toast list (see my profile for all of the spots in NYC that have FT worth eating)! The Nutella French toast here is on point, and I loved the pancakes as well, which had perfectly fried edges. If you manage to finish the portions here by yourself, I salute you. For my friends and I,  it couldn't be done, though we wanted to feast on these carbs for eternity. Great sangria and mimosas, too.

  6. I came here on a Monday afternoon and this place was packed.

I ordered the Monday special which was the Chilaquiles. This was certainly a unique breakfast dish. Tortilla chips, sunny side up eggs, beans and verde sauce. This dish was fantastic and the perfect brunch meal! I also had the pancakes which were amazingggg. I like pancakes but I really never order them when I am out but these pancakes are phenomenal!! Best pancakes Ive ever had.  I also had a Bellini which was pretty boring, I didn't care for it at all. More importantly the food was great!! The service was good and the food came out in a timely fashion I highly recommend this cute little cafe for breakfast or brunch!!

  7. Really wonderful cafe and restaurant.  They are open early, even on the weekends!  And there was no line at 8:30am on a Sunday.  The brunch, the lunch, and the dinner menus are all great.  I had a salmon dish with the most delicate ravioli layered at the bottom.  Steak and fries were good and definitely try the escargot for an appetizer!  Eggs are fluffy served with a substantial and refreshing side salad and fries. Try their salads (like the chickpea salad) and sandwiches for lunch – you feel like you ate something healthy and delicious and you leave feeling full.  I have to go back to try their pancakes that everyone is raving about.

  8. One of those weekends I wonder around town and came across this cafe on Yelp, so I hopped on my car and made a short drive, I was able to sit down immediately, the cafe is quite old with an old American cafeteria ambiance, they have a nice back yard area with a few tables, with plenty of shade, it'd be nice to sit out there.

I was eye their french toasts and quiche for awhile and decided to splurge, so I ordered both plus a grapefruit juice. Unfortunately my drink didn't come first, my order didn't take too long.

I was told by a Gold Elite that Luluc is famous for their pancakes, I think their french toasts deserve a lot of love too. It's warm, crispy but not hard, the bread texture was not bad. The quiche with spinach and feta was very good, slightly too much spinach but the cheese compensated for the taste. It's hot, crispy on the crust and very creamy inside. The side of fries was just ok, slightly too thin. I like the side salad though, the vinegar was perfect.
