  1. *duck confit & brie quesadilla (this duck was cooked nicely, juicy and flavorful; the brie was nicely melted and distributed throughout; the one complaint about this dish is the tortilla, it was really crispy and more chip like, I would have preferred if it was softer; the salsa verde was decent too but of course I've had better at Mexican restaurants)
*lamb steak (the lamb was perfectly medium rare and the char and grill they had on the meat was fabulous; there was sooo much tendon in it though, which made it difficult to eat and that was kind of disappointing; I loved the mashed potatoes, there was so much flavor in it and they left it chunky which is exactly how I like it! the fig reduction sauce that was over the swiss chard was interesting; the swiss chard was good and thankfully not tough, the sauce did take some getting used to, overall, I really liked this dish and it was worth $28)
*grilled mahi mahi over summer risotto (this fish was alright, I think it was slightly overcooked and it didn't have much flavor to it; the summer risotto was lovely, there was a lot of fresh veggies in it and the rice was of a good consistency; the sauce was on the corners of the plate was so good, it looked like satay but I'm not exactly sure what it was)
*the bread they served was rustic and it was so good just warmed up out of the oven; the dipping oil was something else!!!! I loved loved loved this infused oil, they probably infuse it themselves, they should bottle this and sell it if so, it was full of body and garlic flavor and other spices

Omg it was so good; this place is tiny and there was about 12 table which is why they suggest you make reservations; this place is in the middle of nowhere and you wouldn't expect this type of food to come out of a place like this

  2. Awesome and phenomenal!  True definition of hospitality!  Food is super tasteful, rich with flavors, and wonderfully creative.  Talk about a passion for gastronomy.  Made from the heart with love!  Thank you Drew and la familia. Xoxo
BYOB place gets extra star. A++!!! My friend and I, both of us restaurant ppl and foodies, love this place.  It was our 1st time, and the raves and reviews are in point.  We were fortunate to get the voodoo shrimp app and chocolate ganache dessert complimentary.  The dessert threw our bellies over the top, extra stuffed and comatose.  Effin' decadent and super delish!
The Short-Rib Mac 'n Cheese is THEE BEST EVERRRR!!!  If I had to dream of amazing Mac 'n Cheese, this is it.  Fantastically combined, perfectly cooked, and topped with crunchies.  Super Scrumptious!
Escargot!  Extra WOW! Dozen or more fresh snails mixed with a rich creamy blue cheese sauce and fresh herbs.  Lip smacking delicious. Very heavy and oh so yummy.
The Pulled Pork was exquisite. Perfectly seasoned. The pickled veggies were tangy and sweet.
Now these are just the apps. And we were full. So dinner and dessert was, just simply stated, gluttonous!   My entrée was the Osso Bucco. So magnificently cooked it melted off the bone with the fork. Unreal. The smashed potatoes with the jus was a perfect combo.  My friend ate the crab cakes which are delicious and nicely pan seared, but the crab meat is too finely grounded. I like it to be more chunky (my only suggestion).
The service was excellent too.  She knew the menu inside out, and was very sweet and kind.  She opened up our 2 bottles of wine (Avalon Cab and Menage a Trois – perfect combo for our food selections.)  She brought us 4 wine glasses as requested with a smile. She could use some wine opening training but no biggie.
Trust me, No One can ever be disappointed. If you are, then you simply don't know phenomenal food and should stay home to mix up your nasty boxed Kraft Mac n cheese.  I will definitely return more often with more friends and family.  They all deserve to be treated to mouthwatering cuisine.  That's all folks!

  3. I've moved to the Jersey shore area about two years ago and to this day I still have the preconceived notion that there is nothing good around the shore, and i'm not talking about food scene. I'm talking about nightlife, bars, etc. it's pretty barren. The closest thing would be Asbury Park, but even that it gets pretty tiring since there's only a handful of good place and all the others are just okay.

A friend of mine recommended DBB, it's BYOB and it's pretty affordable. It's located right by the water and at night it feels like you're in one of those remote area or at least that's how I feel.

We had a seven course tasting here, the menu was hand picked by Drew. It was amazing! I'm not talking about the fluffy, nebulous dining experience. This is straight up bistro style food, let the food do the talking kinda place. Please don't come here expecting some molecular gastronomy tasting. This is a place where you find comfort!

Voodoo Shrimp was one of the most memorable dish that to this day I still think about it. The pan seared scallop with truffle risotto was unreal!

Pretty much everything was amazing, my only thing was the portion was a bit too big especially when you try to squeeze seven courses in one sitting. Other than that, it's was an awesome experience!

  4. Hey, if it's good enough for Bruce and Patti, as read in another review, then why not for me too.  Pleasant greeting, eagerly helpful servers, and a fond farewell from the staff.

The salads were large and could be shared by 2.  The SW Caesar and the House Salad were both excellent.  In fact everything we touched was excellent.  I loved the Braised Short Ribs and my wife very much enjoyed and devoured(don't tell her I said devoured) the Lazy Lobster.  Our friends has the mushroom soup, the mussels, and the Salmon.

The parking lot is narrow so be careful.  The bathrooms have a weird location behind a curtain in the dining room as opposed to being in the lobby/waiting room.

Looking forward to a return visit and maybe on the same night as Bruce and Patti.

  5. Drew's has amazing food, and I love that the menu is constantly changing based on what's in season! I can't wait to return.

  6. Drew's Bistro is a simple and classy place located by the waterfront in Keyport. The cuisine is Cajun/creole inspired and Drew's has built up quite a reputation for the quality of the food. It has even appeared on Bobby Flay's Showdown.

    Know before you go: BYOB!!

My husband and I had the voodoo shrimp which Yelp shows is clearly the most popular item and I see why. Served atop jalepeno cornbread, in a ridiculously delicious rich sauce which had a touch of sweetness.  We also tried the calamari which was fresh and not fried, but not as spectacular as the shrimp.

The Long Island Duck was served both with sliced breast and confit over a risotto of whole grain and fresh vegetables. It was prepared really well but I did note that the sour cherry sauce actually just tasted like super-reduced balsamic vinegar.

My husband had the Wahoo- I am now a fan. Thick like cod but wayyyy tastier and prepared blackened-style. We also got a side of mushrooms because we are those crazy people who think no meal is complete without mushrooms. They were excellent.

Overall a fine meal and worth repeating. The service was snappy and if I was being picky I would say that it packed warmth…. but really, it's all about the food isn't it??

    Drew's- I'll be back!

  7. This is our favorite restaurant.  We have been going to this amazing place since it opened.  The owner has such a talent with food.  We have watched this place grow into a fine dinning experience.  Food is just so good.  They always have seasonal specials. Our fav is the voodoo shrimp.   Summer they have homemade corn ice cream, a must try.  Just make your plans ahead and call for a reservation bc they book up sometimes weeks in advance. BYOB. Reasonable prices.

  8. Great cajun, in a place where I certainly did not expect it.
