  1. I had heard lots about this place from people so i was excited to try. Took my cousin to dinner last night to see what it was all about. Started w their sushi rolls. Nice variety. I'll put their freshness up there with the supermarket variety (a step above your avg Chinese buffet). Two stand out things for me were the short ribs and the lamb chops. Cooked properly and extremely flavorful. Another nice thing is that they have a crepe station. All things considered, it was pretty good. However, it was not $75 good. I know the price is justified because of the variety of seafood. People horde crab legs (not me) so they need to cover expenses. If I return, it'll probably for lunch. But I strongly urge you to go check it out for yourself and ENJOY!!!

  2. Is it ever possible to find a quality Asian buffet that doesn't undercut its customers, drown everything in soy sauce, and send people home feeling greasy and sick? The answer to that is yes. Minado is a standout among its kinds and worthy of a praise for its consistent quality over the years. Similar to your typical buffet-style restaurants, food are prepared and served en-masse from the kitchen. But this is only half the story. Next to the self-serve trays is a dedicated sushi station where you can literally find endless servings of fresh sushi, nigiri, and sashimi. A lot of care has been taken in preparing them and this is evident in the quality. It is worth mentioning that Minado's sushi is part of the Nori Nori's franchise, a well-known upscale Japanese sushi buffet with roots in Flushing, NY.

If I'm ever stuck with indecision about dinner plan but feeling an insatiable craving for food, Minado will fill this void quickly. However, the price in the upper range of what one may consider a nice buffet.

  3. O.M.G. The variety is awesome!!! The fish was all so fresh! Of course some dishes I liked more than others like this delectable Mango roll with Tuna, I believe. Never have I experienced a sushi buffet and I am wowed! I've had unlimited sushi at restaurants where you have to order each item and it's brought to you. They charge you for anything unfinished on your plate, which is understandable of course but usually uncomfortable as the waiters stare at you. At Minado, no such experience and the waitresses were nice. I can't wait to go back!

  4. ENDLESS amounts of sushi! Whenever I go, all I do is pack my plates with endless amounts of sushi! The fish is always fresh, so you're always getting the best bang for your buck when you go. I also have trouble digesting rice so I always end up picking off the fish and leaving mountains of rice(which they do NOT charge me for… well at least the past few times, I've done that). The staff is friendly and the service is quick, so as soon as you leave your old plate and go for a new one the table is already cleared.

This place is every bad influence you need to channel your inner fatty and enjoy plates full of food. Also parking/seating is plentiful, so it's never an issue if you plan on throwing a party or going with a big group! They also have a full dessert spread and soft served ice cream… take advantage (:

  5. Okay. So I've been here twice. Food is most definitely great. You're getting good quality sushi and it's super fresh. I was a little nervous about the idea of a sushi buffet,  but after being reassured by others of this place's amazingness, I gave it a try. I was surprisingly pleased with what I found. We came here for a Sunday lunch, which I believe at that time, the price is about 20 or so dollars. I find that price point worth it. There were a variety of items to choose from. Loads of sashimi, sushi, and rolls. There was even a sashimi salad that I absolutely devoured over and over again. There is an abundance of non-sushi food here too for non-sushi eaters. Imagine a combination of Chinese buffet and Sushi buffet. I believe they even have Ramen as well. Dessert station is decent, but nothing to write home about.

Service: Service is here is exceptionally bleh, but it's a buffet, so I don't expect anything spectacular. Don't expect your drinks to be refilled in a timely fashion. Also, don't expect to be checked on very often. The last time I was here, it took 40 minutes for us to receive our check. We ended up having to ask the person manning the front entrance to get it for us.

Now, I would have given this place 4 stars normally, but what I found absolutely terrible was that on my most recent visit, on Father's Day, we arrive after having driven 35 minutes to find out that Minado is serving a "dinner menu all day". What does that mean? 35 dollars per person vs. 20. At 1 pm. This blatant attempt to bleed money from people on a day where they're supposed to be celebrating was infuriating. What was even more frustrating was that the menu was absolutely NO DIFFERENT. I noticed NO DIFFERENCE whatsoever with their normal lunch menu and this special "dinner menu" they were offering all day. I almost never want to come back here on sheer principle. Customer service goes an extremely long way in my book and this "surge" pricing to take advantage of the holiday is absolutely disgusting to me. Because of this, I will look for another place to take my business and I will make sure everyone else knows too.

  6. Well, for someone who fell out of love from any sort of AYCE at this time of my life, this was not a bad experience.  Like everyone, I had one of the moments where I was like "man, I wanna taste like a thousand different dishes today, but just pay for a regular meal."  I happened to find this place (well I have known Minado for a long time.  I have tried several places, and I know some of the places went out of business and changed its name.  I also tried Todai before it was going out of business totally, and Ichiumi, which in my opinion is also looking at the dead end at this point with lowered quality of food and diminished popularity of AYCE in general).

I started with some roll, nigiri and sashimi.  There were good.  Then I went to grilled food, udon and meat, which was not bad.  The only thing to be desired was having more kimchi, but well, this is not actually a Korean place, so can't complain.  I loved the green tea soft ice cream.  Overall the quality of food and the service was good.

I guess I will stop by once in a while when the spell of craving AYCE comes back.

  7. Food: 3.0/5.0
    Service: 2.5/5.0
    Value: 2.5/5.0
    Decor: 2.5/5.0
    Overall: 3.0/5.0

Oh yeah, second Minado I'm reviewing.  Good sushi and hot food spread (definitely good enough for me to considering coming back) but the weekday dinner pricing is a little high at $30.95 as of June 2016 given the premium to lunch and relative lack of traffic.  The service was a little lackadaisical but it's a buffet so not a huge deal.  The dessert spread was a bit weak.

  8. I love this buffet place! This place has Uni! Which is rare for buffet to serve Uni. It's not the most fresh to the taste but it's good enough for me. There are many good selections here.

There is also a fresh crepe maker by the entrance next to the dessert table and they have some good tiramesu!
