I've been coming here since I've moved to the neighborhood. The restaurant itself is very small. If there's a handful of people it feels crowded and uncomfortable. Unless it's empty I usually order take out or have it delivered.
I've had the pernil, rice, beans, soup, steak, coffee, baked chicken, ribs, etc and all of it has been delicious.
The waitresses are nice and their prices are good. Today I ordered a large mondongo (serving for two), white rice and two desserts for $15.50. With the exception of the tres leches cake (cake was dry) that I ordered, everything else was tasty.
Good spot if you're craving Latino eats. The portions are a good size at a fair price, and there are plenty of options for those unfamiliar with this type of food. Just point at whatever's in the glass case, and you can have it ladled over rice and beans. I didn't love the bacalao because most of the fish was crumbled to bits in a mediocre sauce, but the mondongo saved the meal – ample chunks of chewy tripe immersed in a savory, hearty stew.
