“The food was great too, -had the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, corn bread, vinegar-style coleslaw and potato salad.”
“It's a great spot in Bed-Stuy that you wouldn't know about unless a local brought you there.”

This is a great new addition to the neighborhood. Huge space with 2 bar areas that are separate; the main area has live music, tons of tables, and BBQ! The other has a DJ and is more cozy.
Great beer selection, friendly staff, good service & awesome food. Great place to have a birthday party. Highly recommended.
Came here on a saturday around 6-7pm to hit the 12-8 happy hour!
No appealing banner to catch your attention when you pass by.
Looks like a closed gate with 2 black doors!
Upon arrival the place looked really empty, but it mightve been due to the fact that its actually pretty big!
Staff was VERY unattentive and definitely gave off bad vibes to newcomers! Seemed like they only focused on existing/usual customers (thats probably where the tips at)
Anywho! I asked about the happy hour only to find out they only do it on weekdays..
It states on your website, flier that you handed me that day, chalkboard, and banner! What do you mean?!
So me and my friends looked around at the creepy customers and decided it wasnt the place to be haha.
This place might be a hit or miss, but I definitely missed by a long shot 🙁
Came here once for a beer event thank-you brunch. The space is pretty cool; basically a big beer hall. Location is out of the way, even by hipster standards I'd suppose. Regardless, I love the idea of a bar centered around rock and roll, beer/bourbon, and bbq. No band this afternoon but they seem well equipped for one. The beer list was good but not as amazing as I was hoping for. Some good options like Founders Dirty Bastard, but nothing too crazy. At least the list is long and the prices reasonable. Some good deals on whiskey too but I didn't try that out.
For food I just grabbed a frito pie, which is probably my favorite Texan food item. The frito pie was good, but not quite bursting with flavor; they didn't season it as well and pull out as much flavor from the chili I would've liked. From what I ate I think they were trying to highlight the meat more, but this just left it blander and even so the meat quality wasn't special. Keep it simple, Beast: it's chili dumped on top of fritos, stop trying to elevate it to another culinary level. For $7 this was an acceptable deal. What wasn't was that I had to wait a good 20 minutes for this. All the guy behind the counter had to do was make sure the chili was hot, dump it on the fritos, and ask me to pay. It doesn't take 20 minutes, but it might if you're too busy talking to the other staff and not serving customers (to be fair the bartenders were better). While I appreciate the prices here and what they're trying to do, Beast isn't really my scene. If it's yours and you're nearby, definitely try it out though.
Quality BBQ, and this is coming from a Kansas City and St. Louis native. We liked the ribs the best. Try all of the sauces. Some look very different from the way they taste (they all tasted great!). Mac and cheese was excellent!
One of the best things was that there was no wait, no long lines. The bar has an excellent selection. The music was heavy metal/rock. We went around 6:30 pm on a Friday night with a toddler and it was pretty kid friendly, high chairs and all, as long as u are ok with blaring music. The space is massive so there was plenty to explore and look at to keep our 3 year old occupied.
If I was just basing this review off of the food, I would give this place 5 stars. The bar service absolutely ruined our experience and was incredibly shitty. The manager and owner should reconsider their bar staff.
When we were trying to order drinks, it took us a good 15 minutes to even get acknowledged and it was not that busy. When we got our drinks, we didn't receive our buy-back coin for the happy hour special of 2 for 1 drinks. When the bartender didn't give us our buy-back coin, it was implied that our drinks would be 2 for 1. When we received our bill, both drinks were full price due to the lack of communication from the bartender. We ordered the whiskey sour and love gun. The love gun had an overwhelming sour taste and the brown sugar was undetectable. I didn't know that the whiskey sour would be frozen. It was okay but not great.
For the food, we ordered the hogzilla, half pound of pulled pork, and half pound of wings. The sandwich was monstrous and completely worth the price of $15. The pulled pork was succulent and the barbecue sauce was delicious, with just the right amount of heat. The wings were sour and spicy, but in a good way. The meat was still moist and the wings were a good size.
It's such a shame that the bar service was so shitty. It's probably the worst service I've ever received from a restaurant. We were raving about the food but to me, service outweighs the food. People choose to either come back or not because of how well or poorly they were treated. Don't hire people with no customer service skills. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.
I was first introduced to this spot a year and some change ago, when it was a little less of a rock-inspired BBQ joint. I had been waiting to bring a guest here for some time as he is something like Ron Swanson, so I naturally assumed he would love it.
As I mentioned before my first experiences with this place it lacked the rock and roll murals and music. It seems at some point the business had a bright idea to appeal to a specific audience… My guest nor I was that audience. As soon as I walked in I felt out of place. However this review is not about my emotional well-being but the food and ambiance.
There was a decent sized crowd and we received our food promptly. We sat at the bar and the bartenders where friendly and nice.
The food…. They definitely know how to smoke some meat. The meat is seasoned deliciously albeit it a bit on the spicy side, no need for sauce. Which was great because the sauce was GROSS all of it! It was hand made nasty in a bottle. I also had the potato salad which was good too just a little bit soupy for my taste. Like the potatoes were literally swimming in whatever sauce they used.
Over all it's a decent spot, I am not a fan of the new theme but the meat alone is worth the stop.
We headed here on Friday afternoon cause my friend said they had great drink specials. We all ordered frozen drinks (whisky) I think. Tasted like a coke icee with crown, which I actually liked. We ordered the nachos thinking it would be enough to share…but it wasn't. Didn't really enjoy the bites I did have- the beans on top were good but just not enough flavor.
Still hungry we ordered the bbq wings. Meh. Just ok.
Everybody has an off night. Maybe they did, maybe I did, but my old review can stand testament to whatever happened that night.
It's a different story now. The atmosphere is much the same – gruff exterior, charming interior, much like many of the patrons. They really outdo themselves in terms of TVs – anywhere in the bar, you can watch whatever's playing.
The drink selection is quite expansive, and a touch confounding. You'll need to appreciate either uncommon beers or American whiskeys to really grasp what this place has to offer; I personally enjoyed the taste of home with the Southern Tier's Pumpking.
The food on the latest go-rounds was much improved. I revisited the pulled pork sandwich and was far happier, and I also enjoyed the rack of ribs. They were meaty, they were tasty, they were exactly what I was hoping for. Next I'm looking forward to giving their chicken a try. It's still pretty expensive in comparison to other local options, but when it comes to Bed Stuy BBQ, they don't have much in the way of competition.
