  1. Went back to Egg Shop again. Today it was Saturday morning at 10:15 AM, brunch time. Even this early in the day, ALREADY this little restaurant was filled to capacity. The cute couple that actually came in before me had to be turned away because there just wasn't a table for two available. Luckily, since I came alone my hostess found a seat for me right away at the bar!! 🙂

I started off with 2 orders of their famous fried chicken. The fried skin was seasoned nicely, and they even drizzled just a tiny swirl of maple syrup to really enhance the flavor of the chicken! Be forewarned however, the fried chicken is only offered for the early morning brunch and the lunch hours. After 4pm, it is no longer offered so if you want it, you better come in early!

I also made a custom order Egg & Cheese sandwich for my main entree. I had 2 eggs scrambled, melted with gruyere on a buttermilk biscuit. Simple, yet soooooo good!!

  2. Mediocre, at best. The space itself is cute but the service was dense and slow. Nothing really stood out to me…it was just eh. I've  had WAY better avocado toast and didn't think that was something  you could really go wrong with? It was the most bland avo toast I have ever tasted…even with the egg on top. The whole experience was just very blah….

  3. After a number of fail attempts to come here, I finally waited on the line to try this popular brunch spot on a Saturday. The wait felt like an hour. It's a small restaurant so there's very few seating available. The food was alright, didn't stand out, but it is a cute place for brunch if you're willing to brave the long wait.

  4. This place is super cool and they know how to heat up an egg, that's for sure.  My wife and I came in for a weekday brunch.  I had the avacodo toast with the poached egg and a side of fried chicken.  I found the dish, as a whole, to be fresh and clean but a little soft.  Thankfully the delicious fried chicken added some much needed calories to this admired idly healthy choice.  My wife made a custom sandwich on a crumbly biscuit and a side salad.  Overall, it was a good experience.  Cool place and worth the treck downtown.

  5. This place was cute, we got right in and sat at the bar. I split a bunch of stuff, the egg sandwich, the steak sandwich, the hash browns and the biscuits. Everyting was very good, I think the hashbrowns were the best personally.

  6. This place is tiny tiny tiny, so if you plan on coming here with a bigger group of people, call ahead! That or make your dinner plans earlier rather than later.

The food here is honestly fantastic. My friends and I were not loving the oversalting but the texture and flavoring overall was excellent. We started with the poached burrata, which was gooey and buttery. The tomatoes in the dish were slightly sweeter and that added a nice contrast to the salted egg and burrata. I had the burger and fries, which were tender and moist and decadent. My friends had the egg shop bap and the sprouts bowl, and, again, aside from the oversalting, felt very content with their meals.

Service was pretty quick and efficient. Also their water is served in a pitcher with fresh mint and lemon! Let it be known that I never want water any other way ever again.

  7. Best part: honey glazed fried chicken. Seriously, best in NYC.  Most of us got the egg Benedict. It wasn't bad, but all the fried bread (instead of the usually English muffin) became too much towards the end of the meal.

  8. Cute decor, great service but just average food. This place has been on my list for quite some time and I'm glad k can finally say that I went there. With the whole like healthy brunch and coffee shops popping up left and right in soho, I had high expectations. MM and I got the quinoa bowl and a sandwich. Both didn't really appeal to me as much and I probably would not come back unless a friend of mine wanted to go here. The coffee was pretty good though…I've had better brunches in the city but this place is quite instagrammable!!
