WENDY'S BABY BACK RIBSSSS. Barbeque sauce.
I've been camping out Wendy's for months. I mean, it's just too much of a tease to have the store completed and a sign that says "coming soon" for literally like the entire summer. And then one day… they came.
Once upon a time there used to be a Wendy's literally on the next block. (Lexington Ave.) Then one day they closed down. A small piece of me died. But the burger shilling red head HAS COME BACK. TO MIDTOWN.
This exquisite dining establishment was ticklingly delightful! The space is modern, clean, and spacious. There's even a faux-fireplace for a cozy feel! The service was impeccable – the spirit of Dave Thompson would be proud of how welcoming the restaurant was. The food was as expected – which is a great thing. I tried the frosty, the fries, the baconator, the grilled chicken sandwich, and the fried chicken sandwich. All of them I'd order again. 5 stars.
I don't know what got into me but I had a temporary slip back to the dark side. I was craven a Wendy's chili and beans cup with cheese and saltine crackers.
So I hit the Wendy's on the way home. I was the only person standing on line for about 2 minutes while the counter people chit-chated. They finally called next customer when the conversation got boring. The place is big and clean but that doesn't make up for the staff. I got my order and snuck to a far away corner away from the windows to have my fix. Yum, I felt sinful, guilty and ashamed.
I'll make it up to myself my eating some alfalfa sprouts, asparagus, and some Greek yogurt.
