  1. Great hot pot spot. Decent broth in the communal pot, wish they had individual pots though. Very deep menu selection and great service throughout the meal.

Menu consists of the expected meats and veggies. Some meats even come in platters, for instance the beef platter is served various cuts including cartilage, tongue, etc. There are also items not foreign to asian cuisine but definitely not usually seen in hot pot spots like kidney, liver, gizzard etc. Good stuff.  The mister hot pot beef with eggs on top kinda sucked. Just tough, only item I would avoid.

Only annoying thing, wish they left the various sauces and herbs at your table or have a station some where. Awkward when you have to re-up your sauce and they bring the basket over and stand there watching you refill and immediately take it away. How expensive are peppers, garlic, scallions anyway? Throw in an extra dollar fee per person if that was cutting into the bottom line.

  2. You must make reservations to get a seat here. Book early too because it's no surprise if they are out of spots on a Sat or Sun night.

When you eat hotpot, it's no surprise when you leave that you smell like .. hotpot. That smell lingers on your clothes for so long. What I like about Mister Hotpot is that behind every booth, there is a hidden closet you can stash your coats and bags in. What a simple yet innovative idea! It won't entirely mask the smell but it definitely does help. Your phone even has a "closet" under the table so you won't spill juices and food over it.

Price wise, I believe they're comparable to other hotpot spots in Flushing, but what I like most about this restaurant is their food presentation and soup base. When we first arrived, we were seated with a menu and a waitress came over with their sauce station. I really liked how we didn't even have to leave our seats to make our own sauce. Talk about being lazy haha. Overall, I had a great meal. No complaints about anything I ate here. The servers were really attentive too. We had constant plate changes, soup refills and water refills. I would love to come back again soon!

  3. hello, my deliciousness!  Please do yourself a favor and get the pork bone broth!!  It is soooo flavorful!  Your life will be changed forever! You won't view other hotpot flavors the same.  As with any hotpot places, you order all the sides: protein, vegetables, and noodles- they have an overabundance of variety- even some more expensive cuts of meats and specials if you want to be fancy.

We got half and half on the soup broths so that I could try (my gf had gone there a few days prior).  Again, PLEASE GET THE PORK BONE BROTH. The second broth we ordered was the spicy herbal.  I wish I could have sampled it prior to order because for me, yes, it's herbal and I've had herbal hot pot before but the herbs in this broth overpowered EVERYTHING.  Anything I dipped into the herbal broth tasted just like that.  I like to be able to distinguish what I'm eating after I've dipped it.  My BFF liked it but it's just not for me so I'm not knocking off a star for that.  Next time, I'm only getting the PORK BONE BROTH. (Have I convinced you to get the PORK BONE BROTH yet?)

For sauces, they bring you an assortment of sauces that you put together yourself.

We came on a Sunday night with no reservation at 9:30 and we were able to get seated right away.  SO HAPPY because we were starving!

I think the best part is that they give you green melon ice cream bars for dessert.  Some say it's free in the review but really though, it really isn't free since you've paid for everything else you've eaten.  Just an added perk that you don't see the charge on your bill. HAH.

  4. You get what you pay for. Not in quantity but in quality! I came here on a Sunday night with my family and let me tell you, they were packed! We didn't have to wait long but I suggest you make a reservation. You most likely will get a table earlier than the walk ins (ahem my family and I.)

Out of all the hot pots I've had in flushing, this one is by far the freshest (and most expensive.) they mostly cater to the people at the Hyatt. (Basically that entire food court is.)

We ordered fish, beef, veggies, fish balls and some other stuff I can't translate. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious! All the meats and poultry literally melted into my mouth. Lord it was food porn. However, the portions are relatively small. Quality over quantity guys! The only con is the check you'll be receiving at the end of your dinner. The total came up to $110 for 3 people without tips.

Service was great! Friendly and efficient. They also give free melon ice cream at the end of your dinner! Definitely recommend this place to hot pot lovers or for those who are trying it for the first time!

  5. I seriously love this place. This is my favorite spot in all of Queens. This is better than Dolar in terms of taste. Their fatty pork bone broth is ABSOLUTELY delicious!!  They offer "specialty" ingredients like scallops, abalone.. expensive, but absolutely delicious.  These ingredients are so fresh and really takes the hot pot experience to the next level.  That being said, you can easily run into $70-100pp.  If you are not so fancy… it may be around 40$pp.  I absolutely love their tofu skin.

There aren't that many sauce options, but sometimes simplicity is best.  The sauce they make for you is delicious, I enjoy the lemony flavor.  It's really the broth that makes this place shine.

In terms of ambiance, it's very  very hipster and cool, yet pays homage to the Chinese culture. It is very very clean. Some waiters speak english, but the menu is in both languages so you can point if there is a bit of barrier.  This is the type of restaurant to take your friend for a "high-end" hot pot experience.  Good for groups. Sometimes hard to get a reservation, but highly recommend.

  6. Stopped by around 9:00 PM on a Thursday night and the place was still packed! Luckily, there was a table getting the check, so we only had to wait for 10 minutes or so. There were 5 of us and we only used one pot.

At the table waiting for us was a tray with 8 different condiment items – satay sauce, green onions, cilantro, garlic, fried onions, chilis, peanuts, and a chili sauce. There was a premixed soy sauce in a dish and you're supposed to add the other stuff into that sauce. I'm not a huge fan of soy sauce, so I added my extras in a different bowl. The menu is pretty standard, they have their regular items on one menu, and their premium items on another menu. Add the condiments quickly because they take the tray away when you're done ordering! You can always ask for more, but the servers seemed to be annoyed by that.

The price of the broth is listed on the menu, and if you want to do two different broths, it cost $15. We went with the pork bone and the spicy herbal. The broth comes with a bowl of veggies and some vermicelli. For the five of us we ordered the beef platter, the shrimp paste with fish roe, fried tofu skin, noodles, an assortment of veggies and tofu, pork meatballs, and a couple other things.

The two broths that we had were alright – the spicy herbal wasn't that spicy, or that herbal, the pork bone broth had a good flavor, but I don't know if I liked it for hot pot. The best item we got is probably that shrimp paste. The servers will portion it out and drop it in the broth for you. When cooked, it's brilliant. I can't really describe it, but I really liked it. It had a crunchy-ish texture, but was still soft. If you're a fan of shrimp, I would highly recommend this item. The beef platter was more than enough for the 5 of us – I loved how they offered all the different parts of the cow – it's rare in most hot pot places. All the other items we got were pretty standard.

At the end, they offer a Melona bar (melon flavored ice cream bar) for dessert.

Overall, it's a solid hot pot place, but it's pretty expensive. I'm not from the Flushing area, so I'm not sure how it compares to other places. I would come back for that shrimp paste, but that's about it.

P.S. Go use the restroom when you're here – it's definitely an experience!

  7. Really good quality hot pot.

We stopped by at 3 PM when it opened on a weekend, and it wasn't particularly crowded throughout most of our meal as a result. We had a pork bone broth for our hot pot, and it was thick and extremely flavorful. We ordered an assortment of meat dishes, which were all very fresh as well, as well as some more unique dishes like fish paste "noodles" and 3-second tofu skin. The service was also quite good and attentive for most of the time, and I appreciated the melon popsicle that we had at the end. It's a little out of the way and definitely a bit pricier than your normal hot pot, but definitely worth the extra cost.

  8. We came here on a Friday night, it wasn't as busy as we thought. The quality of protein was good, we had $30 beef combination, fatty beef, fatty lamb and pork belly. I also enjoyed their vegetables and frozen tofu. We were thirsty after the meal, I felt the soup base was a bit too heavy, it could be lighter.
