This place is billed as a bakery but it's mostly known for their breakfast/brunch menu. I definitely agree with other reviews that say there is still work to be done on this little gem.
I feel like they just hired all introverts that want to avoid all interactions with people and hastily put together their "brand image" by what items were in stock at the time of their Ikea shopping spree.
Look, the most important thing is that their food is actually really good but I so desperately want to hold them by their hand and just re-do the whole thing.
White Cake Bakery is walking up a steep hill I just hope they have the endurance and smarts to improve as they go along.
I'm rootin' for ya little guy!
I'm really stoked on this place. I like how it's setup like a coffee house and bakery but serves up really awesome food on top of that. White Cake Bakery is the kind of place where I could pick anything off the menu and be satisfied. It's a really solid menu (which makes it a bit tough to decide).
I tried the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. The pancakes were very good and had fresh strawberries and whip cream on top (how bad could that ever be?). I could've done without the lemon topping but overall it was good. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was really really awesome. The whole sandwich was just put together really well. Anything with chipotle in it usually catches my attention.
Again, for the ambiance and convenience of this place, it's a real value. With everything around $10 or less and lots of creative menu options to choose from I would definitely try this place again and maybe even make it a regular spot.
Ordered the fruit tart and chocolate mousse and it was delicious! The crust of the fruit tart was just right and the fruits were fresh. The mousse was very tasty; however, it had a thick layer of hard chocolate on top. Don't get me wrong, the chocolate layer was yummy, but it could have been better if it wasn't so hard. I literally had to chop it up in pieces with my fork! I also ordered a fresh green juice that was pricey in my opinion since it only came with three ingredients (apple, cucumber and celery)! Nonetheless, the desserts were good and I will definitely come back!
I would like to give this bakery 3.5 stars but since I'm not allowed I would give them the 4 since 3 would be too little.
Is not that what I had was bad but I felt they lacked variety in their pastries. A bakery should have a wide variety of cakes, cookies and stuff.
After having lunch we wanted something sweet and came here. I have passed many times by this bakery but have never had the chance to actually come in.
My friend ordered a coffee which he claimed it was good but nothing special.
I went with the almond croissant which was delicious and very fresh. Also I thought the price was great (2.75) since a lot of other bakeries charge a lot more.
I got to taste the brownie my friend ordered and it was too rich and dense for my liking.
I would like to come back and try their lunch food since the salads and sandwiches looked really good.
