  1. There are no words for this place. The shakes are amazing! Try the mamey or guava. The steak sandwiches are so good that you fo not need cheese. Just get the steak sandwich. You eont regret it.

  2. Pan con bistec or steak sandwich.

I was in the area and I searched Yelp for some nearby good eats. I wanted something good and authentic. This place popped up. I've never had pan con bistec, so I figured I'd give it a try.

Pretty hole in the wallish decor. Menu is written in Spanish. There seems to be two items on the menu. Pan con bistec and batidos. I had no idea what batidos was, so I asked. It's a milkshake. I wasn't in the mood for a milkshake, so I just ordered the pan con bistec. It comes in two sizes small and large. I ordered the large.

Service was very friendly and accommodating. Since I wasn't in the mood for milkshakes, I asked if they had Spanish soda. They showed me a few and I chose a pineapple Cuban soda.

I was thinking pan con bistec, was like a cheesesteak. It has similar ingredients: steak, bread, cheese, onions, and fries. But, it wasn't really like a cheesesteak at all. It had a different flavor and alot thicker slices of steak. It was pretty good. I was happy to have found this restaurant.

The restaurant also has free parking, for an hour or two hours (I can't remember which), which is pretty valuable considering its right off Bergenline Ave and it's very difficult to find parking there. I didn't take advantage of it this time, because I actually found parking, but next time I definitely will.

  3. Hands down best steak sandwich you will ever eat in your life. Dos Amigos has been a landmark in this area for years. Everyone who loves pan con bistec has either heard of this place or has been a loyal customer like myself since the beginning of time.

Simplicity at its best. For $7.50 you can get yourself Pan con Bistec with cheese or without and two sizes a small or large. Prices between the two sizes vary by $1. The sandwich comes thick filled with lots of flavor. Seasoned steak topped with onions (if you want) and french fries all toasted on Cuban bread. Yes please!

They also have batidos (shakes) that are always refreshing and they validate your parking for one hour. CASH only! Check out this spot if you're around and are in the mood for a delicious and filling steak sandwich. Your taste buds and tummy will thank you. 🙂

  4. The best steak sandwiches in town! Delicious and cheap. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG!

    Cash only though.

  5. They do one thing and they do it well: Steak sandwiches. Steak marinaded in some sort of vinegar base, cheese, raw onion, and seasoned french fries all inside a pressed sub roll …Yum! They also have a variety of shakes (which I haven't had). Cash Only

  6. I've been coming to Dos Amigos for years now. In the beginning I used to come in and eat because they provide 1 free hour parking but the ladies that work here are so rude. They always give you an attitude and are always giving everyone dirty looks. So I prefer to order ahead now, the place could be remodeled inside,  it's been here for so long the chairs and tables are dirty looking, but overall great sandwiches and smoothies (a bit expensive for a smoothie)

  7. My friend from Miami told me Dos Amigos was one of her favorite places for pan con bistec during her youthful Jersey days. She said it shouldn't be missed, so while in Weehawken, I decided to pass by and try one. It took a while to find this place as it's on a side street…not Bergenline Avenue as the address suggests. We finally find it and an open parking space right in front of the building! If you aren't as fortunate, there is a garage right next door and they will validate your ticket so you can park at no charge. We enter and order 2 of their famous sandwiches. They keep it real simple…the bistec includes steak, onions, French fries, and queso on request. I opted to have the queso. This sandwich did not dissappoint! The bread was nicely toasted, the steak was tasty and tender, and the fries were well seasoned and crispy. The only thing missing for me was mayo! Mayo makes everything better! Overall, a great sandwich…and the large size was only $6.50. One more thing…they only accept cash.

  8. This is just like your Italian cheeseburger from the chicken spot but the bread they use is better with the edges cut, lmost like a Cuban sandwich..parking can be really tight around their also…place isn't that big, few seats but man the sandwich is good and for the price of $7.50 for a grande steak sandwich can't go wrong!…also place only takes cash so know that ahead of time..
