  1. Love this seafood buffet! I have been here over 20 times in the past few years. Food is fresh and a good variety. Reasonably priced all you can eat sushi. Oysters are very good and sometimes they have hot crab legs as well. Spacious, casual dining experience.

  2. I've been a loyal Minado customer for years now and I still go once in awhile with my family. I really like the space here compared to other buffets that are super crowded and congested. Here at Minado I feel very comfortable and it doesn't feel hectic at all. The service has always been inconsistent because they have their amazing servers and their slow/lazy servers, but it's okay because my family is very nice and patient! Anyways as for their food, it has always been consistently good. I really love their sushi selection because it's pretty big! The last two times that I have been here, I realized that they refill the crab legs more often. I also love coming here because of their crepes and green tea ice cream, they are always a huge delight for me. I would totally recommend anyone to go here!

  3. Minado is one of my favorite Japanese buffets. The quality has been consistent for all these years and they have great variety. My favorites are their speciality rolls, the fact that they serve sashimi, crepes, and crab legs! Make sure if you want butter, you ask from the waiters. They don't have a self serve butter.

They're very clean and food is replenished quickly. They even swap out the serving tongs at a constant rate. They're busy during peak dinner times, so be prepared to wait.

  4. Treated my mom to this place for lunch after our morning hike. I used to come here with my family when I was little and I remember that we loved it here. However, I haven't been back here for almost a decade. There's a HUGE selection of sushi and they are all so fresh! Everything is so clean and beautifully presented.

However, I felt like a lot of stuff was a little dry such as the steak and the chicken wings. The pork dumplings weren't crispy. They tasted kind of weird. I wasn't too impressed by their selection of food because a lot of it is fried. You can have the chef make you udon, ramen or soba noodles. I ordered the udon which was good but the shrimp tempura were super soft and soggy. Another thing is that the music is a bit loud and doesn't really go with the whole Japanese vibe. EDM at a buffet? Kind of strange.

What I really came for was the dessert! Damn that stuff is good! From the tiramisu to the green tea ice cream. The tiny cakes are also super spongy and soft. I love the green tea and strawberry cakes. I ate 4 of them lol. I love cake so much!!! I can't remember the last time I had an asian cake that tasted so good! The fruits are really good as well and very fresh. I'm not that into sushi but if you are, I'd definitely recommend coming to this place.

  5. I came to Minado for a friend's birthday and I was surprised to see how spacious and clean the AYCE spot is. We did not make a reservation but was seated almost immediately for a party of 10. They have a lot of specialty rolls, sliced sashimi, hibachi, hot and cold plates, and was pleasantly surprised to see crab legs being served! Food is replenished quickly and our water cups were never empty. They charge $2 for hot tea so that's just a FYI.

  6. This place has been one of our favorite AYCE Japanese buffets. We'd been here multiple times for various celebration during its prime ( like  13 years ago) . When our children were  growing up, coming here puts sparkles to their eyes.  We stopped coming as it becoming overrated.

Today we opted to spend our Valentines day luncheon here as we were heading to the close by Roosevelt Field mall. It has never changed its settings.

What I love most here is the selections of their sushi and sashimi. Each kind is hand prepared at its finest by the chef. Fresh as expected.  Their salad bar is  next on my list.  Stylish presentation , freshness looks and taste. The hot Buffett , the dessert bar and the hibachi seems old fashion.

The new thing  for me  as from my last visit is the ramen serving in their soup bar. They have the "tonkutsu or udon" choice. I did not like my tonkutsu much as I have a high standard for ramen after visiting Queens and NYC ramen houses( I know I should not compare ).

And the other new thing, oh yeah, it's price has significantly increased.

  7. As with any buffet, you are really coming here for quantity and not necessarily quality. There were a lot of asians here so that must mean that this place is good. The options were plentiful and constantly being restocked. As with any other buffet, they were slower in restocking the most prized items, (crab legs, oysters, shashimi). I'm pretty middle of the road on this place. I wouldn't rush back but am not against coming back.

  8. Very slow with the oysters and crab legs. If you have a line forming that is a sign you are slow with your food.  People are paying a premium to eat at your restaurant and making them wait for certain type of food is unacceptable.  I think they are doing it on purpose so they can limit the amount of high cost items to their customers.
