“The breakfast menu had a few intriguing surprises; Falls Mill grits, organic eggs sourced from the farm and Norwegian eggs Benedict.”

“Oh, and about that Montclair location, ask for my friend Dre, she's terrific and will treat you right!”

“It was very good, large, with big chunky pieces of home fries( I would llike them more to the size of a tator tot) but delish.”

  1. Went to their location in Montclair a good while ago and I found it to be really, obnoxiously loud and a bit pricey. The food was good there though. Anyway I went here on a Monday and it wasn't nearly as crowded as I have seen so I decided to try a burger.

There might be a few places in Ridgewood that "specialize" in burgers but this place takes the cake ever since Gazelle's closed.

Got it with mushrooms and they were good. The fries were solid as well with a good crispiness. It might take a bit longer than some of the other places but it definitely shows with the quality. I think my only complaint would be that the bun is not exactly the best at absorbing juices but then again, complaining that a burger is too juicy is a bit ludicrous.

    Staff is nice as well

  2. Nice location and loved out doors dining (rare outside of nyc). The Norwegian Benedict and chicken sandwich were both ok… the chips that came with the sandwich was super soggy, like waters been dripped over it,  so the waiter brought us fries… but the fries were also disappointing – all ends and over cook (yuck!). The wait staff were not organized, we had 4 different ppl serving us. Not impressed…

  3. Came in on a Saturday morning. The place is mostly tile and everything echos. This is not the place for a quiet or "relaxing" meal – especially at a time when many children are dining.

I ordered the pancakes. They had a very strange after taste to the point that I thought they were on the verge of being spoiled. Definitely not worthy of a $10 price tag. I ordered a side of bacon well done which came out the opposite of well done. I sent back the bacon and two seconds later was brought out a well done plate of bacon – so either they brought me the wrong plate or had one sitting around?

Best part of my meal was the hot chocolate. So much rich chocolate flavor and with that homemade marshmallow; what a treat.

    Just a "Meh" from me.

  4. Nestled right in Ridgewood center, Raymond's is a decent option for any meal of the day.  I'm a particular fan of the all-day breakfast, especially their stellar omelette.  I'm not sure what they're doing with their eggs, but they have elevated the omelette to something truly exceptional.
They have a nice selection of salads, and I appreciate that they don't drown them in dressing.
There are vegetarian and vegan options.
Seafood, chicken, meats are all regulars on the menu, and they do a nice job with the daily specials.
They make a better than average burger.  In what has seemingly become industry standard, just about all add-ons to the burger come at an additional charge.

I'm not usually a big fan of shoe string fries, but the well-done rendition here is quite good.

Just like the Montclair location, the chairs are an orthopedic nightmare.  They're going for some kind of kitschy decor here and the chairs fit that bill.  Unfortunately, they leave my back in knots.

Like most of Ridgewood center, parking can be a challenge.
Be prepared to wait for lunch and Sunday brunch.

  5. Good comfort food. Saturday brunch is best.
I get my usual, Norwegian Benedict.
My wife, the farm scramble or the breakfast burrito.

Service is consistently good, the food portions are a different story-if it's a busy day, expect your portions to come out smaller…and sometimes not as fully cooked.

But regardless of that, keep a look out for their blueberry pie during the summer. A slice be plenty for 2 after brunch. If you're curious how much a whole pie is, it's $60+. Worth the price? Ehhhhh, your call.

  6. If you're a fan of brunch check this place out! My best friend and I always come here when we're in ridgewood around brunch time. They have a big selection of dishes and everything is freshly made. The portions are also properly sized. My favorite is the eggs benedict with the home fries. Give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed!

  7. Stopped here with friends for brunch. It was fairly busy on arrival but lucky there was a table leaving when we walked in and within 5 minutes we got sat.

The service was slow on ordering after 10 minutes of sitting we had our coffee and water. Another 10 for the waiter to take our order. 15 minutes later we had our dishes….although the a couple of my friends enjoyed their dishes.

I'd say this place is below par with the food. I had steak and eggs requested medium rare and it came out well-done. I didn't bother sending it back. At least my eggs was cooked correctly, but for my $16 brunch plate….I expected more.

Overall the service was slow and the food was meh.

  8. This place is truly a treat! I have been here a handful of times with my boyfriend and we are always so satisfied when we come. The food is very good quality and is prepared really well. The chef uses ingredients that just pair really nicely together. This is a really good spot to come for breakfast or lunch. They have a coffee menu that has a lot of tasty treats, and typically they offer a seasonal beverage as well that's very nice. For example, in the fall my boyfriend got some sort of spiced apple cider drink that was served cold that was very delicious. On our most recent visit, he ordered an iced green tea with ginger and honey that was delectable. I ordered an omelet recently that had a bunch of different ingredients (chorizo, tomato, goat cheese, onions, etc..) and the omelet was really good! It wasn't overdone and didn't feel like it was too much. I put some guacamole on top and it was awesome!

The decor here is also something I enjoy. This place is quite a step up from just a traditional cafe or diner and I really enjoy coming here for breakfast on my days off 🙂
