I find it odd that this place has been open this long and has no reviews. I ate here about a year ago and completely forgot to review the place…was it unmemorable? I don't think so…
Anyway, i stopped in here about a week before Thanksgiving because I needed something quick. The place is tiny and mostly takeout, but I remembered liking their chicken the last time I was here so I figured I'd give it another shot. This time I ordered chicken and ribs with black beans and rice.
The ribs were nice-tender and not sauced, but very tasty. The chicken was a bit dry – even the thigh. I liked the smokey taste, but just a bit too dry. They throw a LOT of rice and beans at you and they use a seasoning in the beans that I didn't love. It was good, but a little odd to me…maybe because this is more of a Latin BBQ place it's just something I'm not used to. Sadly, they charged me for a Snapple, but when I got to the office it wasn't there.
I think this place has potential, but I wasn't overwhelmed. I'd give them another try in a pinch…
