This Herald Square Chipotle was off its game last night when I swung by for a quick Saturday night dinner.
It had probably the slowest service I've ever had at the chain – there were three people in front of me on line and it took me 10 minutes to make it to the register. (Typically when I would go to a Chipotle the staff is crazy efficient to the point where they've perfected the art of the sour cream quick-scoop.)
The three tables to the left of me were all messy by the time I sat down, but eventually one employee took a quick break from the register to tend to them.
And for the first time I can recall at any Chipotle location, the chicken and to a lesser extent the brown rice were overcooked. Come on guys, you can do better! I've been to this establishment in the past, and the food issue was never a factor.
The one silver lining – my burrito bowl had the biggest amount of add-ons I've ever gotten at the chain, so that helped offset everything.
Food is on point. Service and portion not. Came at a okay time (6:15pm) so there was a line of 20+ people when I arrived.
However this shouldn't prevent me from getting a regular portion. I asked for rice, chicken, lettuce and salsa. My bowl did not even make it to the rim. That's right – I didn't even get enough ingredients to fill half my bowl.
The employees are obviously biased. The person behind me was getting served by employee A but when employee B saw the amount A gave, she said "how come you gave so little!" Meanwhile I'm looking at my bowl and it's the same portion as the person behind me. Unacceptable.
From now on I'll visit ktown to get Korean food rather than chipotle.
If you know me well, you'll know that I am thee Chipotle ADVOCATE. This location, however, just doesn't match up to par. Yes, it is situated in a busy location so I didn't mind the line, especially during lunch hour… but being busy should not be an excuse for them to have COLD PROTEIN.
This was the first of my many, many, many Chipotle visits that my steak was not warm, but cold. Do they not periodically check the temperature? My burrito bowl was inedible- not even a quarter of the way through the burrito bowl, I threw it out.
Walk a few blocks to another location because this is unacceptable and not worth the wait.
I usually don't get Chipotle I am more of a Qdoba kind of girl. However, this Chipotle is in my building so last week I was starving st lunch and decided to get this.
The lines are always SUPER long but after my meal I realists it's worth the wait. I got a chicken burrito howl with various additions, it was so DELICIOUS!!!
The service took a while but was prompt once I got to the counter, the prices are expensive but it is NYC, they don't offer canned or bottled sodas only the fountain which is a bit upsetting because I don't drink from fountains. They do however sell margaritas and beer which I m yet to try but stay tuned for another tip.

There is a lot of seating offered but the place is so packed good luck actually finding a spot to eat in.
Your usual Chipotle, filled with people, same food but with efficient workers. Unlike other places, their steak is actually pretty juicy and their chicken is not burnt. Their proportions are also very nice. I wouldn't exactly call their tables clean…but that's not entirely their fault. They also tend to stay open past their closing time.
It's a Chipotle. In the Empire State Building.
The bathroom code is on your receipt so don't crumple that up!
I've always thought the line moves quickly here and I like this location often pilots new offerings and ingredients from Chipotle.
There is limited seating but most people are just here to grab a quick bite and tables turn over quickly.
Consistent with other Chipotle locations and bonus – open pretty late.
I placed an order online thinking it would save me some time. When I arrived there were 3 people in line for online orders. It still took me almost 20 minutes to get my food, it hadn't been made yet when I got to the counter. . I guess that was a little bit quicker than if I would have waited in the normal line but much longer than I expected. Food was fine but not worth the wait.
You can't really go wrong with a bowl the size of my head that feeds my daughter and I when I'm running tight on cash. I love Chipotle! Bring one to bed stuy! Lol yeah right.
