This is the kind of place you stumble in to when you have lost your sobriety in neighboring establishments, not when you are in your right mind. McDonalds makes a better hamburger. I did appreciate the freshness of the veggies and the special sauce on my "Blue 9" burger, but there is nothing so unique about their burgers that you should flock to this place. It's all frozen-to-fried. Don't believe the "hand cut" hooey description of their fries. There are a few dozen choices in the East Village for burgers–this one should not be at the top of your list.
Blue 9 burger has always been one of my favorite burger joints. It's a bit small burger shop but a good handful of tables to dine at. I like the place mainly because of the sauce and they do make a decent burger that is soft and seems fresh as advertised. Been coming to Blue 9 Burger ever since it first appeared in New York over ten or so years ago and I still do.
Ah is that reason I like it and give it four stars…I don't see Blue 9 Burger as trend setting or one of those places all crowded up, if they attempt to or want that-it isn't. It's just to get a good burger, though true there are better. Say a few steps up from McDonald's and a couple steps down from 5 Guys and another step down from Shake Shack?
Blue 9 Burger is a little of a guilty pleasure. Their burgers are greasy and well seasoned. I mainly enjoy their sweat potato tater tots because I don't see them anywhere else.
Nothing special here. Pretty standard burgers and crispy fries. Not too expensive, not super cheap. If you are in the area and just want a fast burger, go to blue 9.
This is one of my favorite "fast food" burger spots. Really short menu, going for an in-and-out style burger. It's tasty and cheap. And they sell fresh squeezed juice and smoothies so you have good and evil all in one place!
I was afraid to come into this place after reading the poor reviews but I think most of the issues lay with their delivery. My husband and I came to catch a quick bite before a show at Webster hall. I believe I got the blue 9 burger which was delicious. Their special sauce was so good. Their fries are nothing special which was disappointing and service was slow even though the place was empty.
I honestly would never come here sober. The burger patty was ridiculously thin, bland, and tasted like it came from the frozen foods section of a supermarket. Perhaps the most disappointing thing was that one could NOT order a burger (single patty) with cheese. If you order cheese on your burger, the price for a combo automatically shoots up several dollars and you must have 2 burger patties in the burger instead of just 1. This policy makes absolutely no sense.
Do they just want us all to be obese?! Or rip us off for just wanting cheese?
i liked blue 9 burger but then i had diarrhea. i thought maybe it was just a coincidence until i ate from here again a while later…and had diarrhea again. not a good sign so obviously i stopped coming here altogether. i will say that their burgers are decent, and their shakes are actually pretty good.
