  1. Recently went here on a Friday night, 7/1, with three of my buddies. This is a cool sports bar with a ton of sports paraphernalia all over the walls. Really has that true sports bar feel, not a fancy place by any means. We split an order of nachos, but should've gone for a double, as they weren't huge like you get in some other bars. Nachos were decent, nothing great. I went for a bacon cheeseburger medium rare with fries, which was pretty good. Again, not amazing, but good for the place and the price. They had Sam Adams Summer Ale on tap which i was happy to knock back a few of. Others got a pulled pork sandwich and a grilled chicken sandwich, all were on the same type roll and came with fries. All reviews were positive.

Besides the cool college sports bar feel of this place, they also feature wing and beer specials anytime a New York sports team is playing, which for me is any time I'm in a bar. I believe the beer special is $1 bud lights anytime a ny team is on. They have a ton of tvs all over the place, indoor and outdoor seating, a good size bar, and high top tables as well as booths and regular tables. Old school video games like deer hunter and golden tee give it a cool vibe. I've come here for trivia night before, which is really fun too, the night we went it was family guy trivia night.

The last time I went, our waitress was a complete idiot though. My desperate friend kept trying to pick her up, which led to her complaining on and on to us about her other table, constantly swearing. Had enough of her very fast, and when she wasn't complaining she was nowhere to be found to take our drink or food order. We asked about the large drink punch bowls they serve with a bunch of straws, but sadly she talked us out of those. Instead she recommended Long Island ice teas, which made me assume she was barely legal to drink if at all. She actually sucked, would've been 5 stars last time without her.

However, we accomplished what we came for here, as we got full and drunk for a reasonable price before heading out to a concert on a Friday night, all while watching sports in a place u can dress as casual as you want and be as loud as you want.

  2. Looking for some good food? Dukes is the place to be. The burgers melt in your mouth and the tequila will do you dirty.

  3. Dukes is a good place to grab cheap drinks with coworkers for happy hour, but don't expect much. Hooters-esque atmosphere. The service was disorganized and our waitress took forever to check on us. We received extra drinks at our table that we didn't even order. That being said, the margaritas were strong and tasty. The appetizers were your average bar bites.

  4. Still a solid Four Stars. Dukes is like a historic landmark to me. We got there early a little after 11:30am.  There were already people there. The place hasn't changed in years. We were seated right away at a booth. Our server Alyssa was so great. She answered all of our food questions. I had a lot of questions regarding my free birthday entree. I also wanted to be sure they had Mud Pie for me!
We both ordered the Classic 8oz burger. My daughter likes hers medium rare and mine medium. Both with cheddar and I had sweet potato fries $2.00 more. She had regular fries. Pretty basic meals. I can't remember the last time I ate red meat! I couldn't wait to see how they rated.
The one downer. People that came in after us had their food. The table with about six people that were there before we arrived did not have theirs. We waited what felt like longer than your typical wait for such a basic meal. I'm shorting them a star for slow service in the kitchen.
As is typical at these places Alyssa was handling a huge table that arrived while we waited for our food. Must have been 12-14 people when they pushed the tables together. The place filled up with customers quickly by noon. Alyssa was such a pro. She handled the big party and took care of everyone else!!
When the food arrived it was worth the wait. My burger was so juicy. My daughters was a little over cooked for her liking but she didn't complain. She couldn't stop raving about the complimentary Cole Slaw! She said she would come back just for the Cole Slaw!!
Alyssa took care of clearing our table and placed my desert order quickly. Then here comes the Mud Pie! Two spoons! Ha!  Did she actually think I would share it! I gave my daughter a small bite! It was very good but not big enough to share. It wasn't what I expected. I've had much better elsewhere. It was just enough after I ate the burger, fries and the Coke Slaw! Yes, I can really throw down!
I showed them my birthday email. They took off the charge for the least expensive meal. For NYC it was a deal!
My daughter boxed her fries to take home, we paid, and hit the door. Out of there just as the noise level became unbearable!!
Hint: Not a place to sit and chat. I wouldn't take a date if you are trying to get to know them. Lots of TV's with sound off, couldn't hear music if they had any. Old fashioned table top juke box doesn't look like it works.
Duke's is what it is. I came to eat. I left full and happy. I felt like I celebrated my birthday once again!! When I want Dukes food during a quiet time I'll go during the week for lunch!! Weekend brunch time is wild and busy!! Great business attitude toward their customers. They treat you nice, Alyssa was great! I felt comfortable like I was at home and welcome there. I highly recommend!

  5. It's a pretty large southern-style sports bar with good service and ample outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

I came here for drinks with a few friends the other day and had a good time.  It wasn't crazy busy and we were seated at one of the large circle tables in the middle, which is nice – they're so much better than rectangle tables when you can't hear what's going on at the other end of the table.  Our waitress was super nice and came by quickly and often during our stay (the manager even walked by towards the end to ask how everything was going).

Their drink menu/selection is okay…would've expected it to be a bit better/larger given that it's a sports bar.  The good news is that they have the standard stuff on tap – a couple of IPAs, and the generic American beers – bud, sam, etc.  They have their own specialty southern style drinks too – margaritas and such, which I'm sure are good, but none of us got them.

Regarding their food options, there's not much that's vegetarian.  I love southern style food – biscuits, corn bread, etc., but the only thing veggie on their menu were a couple of apps, mac & cheese, and a veggie burger.  Nobody was that hungry, so I just ordered the mozzarella sticks, which were decent – normal, nothing fancy.  The sauce they give you doesn't have much flavor or tang to it like a typical marinara sauce.

Overall, a solid place for happy hour drinks with great service. I'll come by here again and try their veggie burger.

  6. Really fun place for drinks and food with friends. They had this great happy hour deal where drinks were half off and they were pretty tasty. The food and apps were good as well, and I'm not claiming them to be some fancy, super impressive place for a meal. But for bar food, this place has some decent spinach dip, mozz sticks and burgers. I was a little miffed that the shooting arcade game had one of the guns busted but what can you do.

  7. came here with a group during the night of st. pattys day. we were drawn to it as it had bright lights, outside seating, ample space and a good crowd. we were able to score a table to seat our party of 5 pretty quickly.

after a few hours of drinking in murrary hill the menu full of bar food looked great. we tried to order some pigs in a blanket for an app, they don't have them. boo. we ended up with wings and spinach dip. wings were good. spinach dip tasted exactly like TGIFridays freezer aisle dip! entrees we got a mix of burgers and chicken sandwiches. again ran into the issue of trying to order something that is printed on the menu, but they can not make. so this is starting to feel like a trend and maybe this place should update their menu? or at least the server could tell us up front.

overall this place was fun and affordable with good tunes playing in the background. the food was alright, and got the job done for what we were looking for.

  8. Been here a bunch of times for various meals. Highlight is the brunch for sure. Offer a very good bottomless drink special for brunch.

Beer selection and drinks are pretty good. The food is mediocre – decent. I'd recommend the wings.
