Yes. The culinary gods have finally blessed the Northeast Bronx with a casual, down to earth yet classy restaurant in the middle of automotive purgatory. Fish N' Ting opened not too long ago as a bar and lounge serving Jamaican style food, as well as a few soul food selections.
My partner in crime and I went to Ripe that night, which we usually love, but felt rushed and a little hungry, so we decided to finally try Fish N' Ting. We were greeted very politely at the entrance and offered a nice, cozy seat next to the window. We decided to split curry chicken with rice and peas. It was very good, I'm always a fan of vegetables in my food. The chicken was mega tender, although there were bones (real chicken woohoo!). Even when a huge party came in, we were never forced to leave and were encouraged to stay and relax.
Drinks are tasty and strong. As the night wore on, they started to play music and set up for karaoke. It seems that although the space is small, they host many different events. This makes it more of a hangout than just a restaurant, which is great. I'm really tired of McDonald's being the only place around here to sit down in.
Brotip: I forgot to mention one really important point!! Prices are so wonderful, I nearly started crying tears of joy when we got the bill (I put two dollar signs if you want a drink, but you can get a plate for $8).
The fact that I was on hold to place an order for pick up for over 11minutes and having NO ONE get back to me is completely absurd!! My phone order would of lasted 20seconds tops. Instead I've wasted my time on hold to speak to a goddamn ghost and ended up with no rasta pasta. Thanks guys!
