  1. I ordered delivery from Tasty's and it was some of the worst food I have had in Astoria/ever. I tried the Tasty's Wrap which "tasted" like the chicken and bacon had been left out overnight on a heat lamp. I hope that's not what they were going for, but if so…bravo, you nailed it.  It was really bad. I also tried some of the Gyro wrap, which tasted like a bunch of overcooked turds with a faint hint of lamb. The meat looked like it came out of a package. This was really really bad. We ate about a quarter of the food before throwing it out.

  2. Solid reliable diner. Best part is that it's open 24hr and around the corner from my apt.

  3. Don't expect anything extraordinary here. It is a small diner with average food. The benefit of the place is in a sea of overpriced food places this establishment is relatively cheap. The steak and eggs is about $15. In addition to the well set price the waitress is very friendly and down to earth (long red hair in a ponytail).

If you love in the area and want cheap food that will fill you Tasty's is a good option. However if you are craving something a bit more flavorful just cross the street and dine at one of the many other interesting restaurants.

  4. This place was pretty OK. Not wonderful, not terrible, and only slightly overpriced. I had spinach pie and a side of tomatoes, and my boyfriend had soup. Our bill with tip came to just about $10, as they charged me for the 2 slices of tomato. I'd come back for the same sort of meal, or breakfast.

  5. This place is hit or miss.

First time (dinner) we went in and ordered out. It was fantastic and portions were way bigger than we expected.
Second time (breakfast) we dined in and it was amazing again and the food was ready so fast. The home-fries are to die for and coffee was better than expected.
Third time (late night) we dined in and it was subpar. I got the same sandwich I had the first time we went and it was half the size of my previous sandwich. My friend ordered jalapeño poppers which were frozen in the middle, for 8$ thats pretty lame. I hate 24 hour places who drop their standards after midnight. Keep it consistent.
I will add that the mozzarella sticks are worth every penny! ($7.50)

  6. This place has really great food!  Came here once with a friend for lunch and today for dinner with the family.  The waiter that waited on me and my friend was very personable and got everything right.

Love the inside decor with comfy booths and warm colors.   They have two TV's going.  Like the name Tasty's and the teddy bear on the front of the menu.  Very marketable and memorable in my opinion.  They have lots on their menu so you will need a few minutes.

Had the grape leaves again today.  They are pretty good.  My husband had the grilled chicken salad which was really fresh and yummy.  It had avocado slices in it with small pieces of mozzarella and roasted peppers.  I also ordered an egg salad sandwich which I stated I wanted toasted twice!  Well it came out not toasted.  Didn't like that part.

They have nice heavy colorful plates that the food is served in.  We had blue and orange plates.

Will definitely come here again if I am in the area.  This time I will just repeat my order to the waitress 3 times in lieu of 2 ;).

  7. Always wanted to try this diner , I should   have listened to my yelper compadres !! Worst customer service ever by the most arrogant , disrespectful waiter named * *Homer*..
The food is notting out of this
world , but my waiter made sure to make it a really uncomfortable  experience .
Came here with my friend and our two 4 year old girls ,  as soon our waiter approached us I notice his  attitude , when I asked him which salad will be a better choice, the Greek or Ceaser before I can finish saying with grilled chicken he jumped in and said the Greek one, he seen to be in a extreme rush, I said oh the Greek salad ? He replied, yes that's what I just said the Greek one ( with a attitude ), oh boy I knew he was trouble, then I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for the kids.
The spaghetti  where ok but the meatballs where hard as a rock , really like a rock , when I called my waiter and informed him that the meatballs where over cooked he repeated to me with a sarcastic voice and look "over cooked?" I stated they are just not edible, can you please change them. He raised his hand in a gesture like , omg ok ok , and walk away , then he came back with the same damn meatballs and said they are cooked, don't forget the sarcastic voice he held during the entire duration, from beginning to end, can you believe after that , he  abandon our table never came back not even for, how can I make it better? How's the rest of the food ? No no no , I caught him a few times giving me looks , it was just uncomfortable, I felt liked I was fighting with someone I knew, there was a another waiter that was noticing everything and he came over our table and ask us, how's  everything ? I just ask for the check I just wanted to get out of there, in the mean time I notice the  the rest of the staff were laughing, chatting, like they were hanging out at a bar, this kind of service no one should tolerate " HOMER " the idiot waiter has made this place the new dark spot of Astoria I will definitely bulk email my local Astoria patrons this review. The Tasty diner now will be known as the Nasty Homer Diner.

  8. Overall, pretty average.  I believe it gets 2 stars for day hours and bumps up to 2 stars for midnight food when you are starving.  Service was a little slow, but their friendliness far made up for it.

I got the huevos racheros and they were pretty tasty for cheapie diner food, my date got a nice sized omelette.  Nothing is particularly artfully done or super fresh, but you leave 2.5 stars satisfied:)
