Da Capo

“Would it sound terribly cliche to say that while sipping my cappuccino I felt transported back to my last trip to Italy?”

“Their sandwiches are made fresh every morning; I recommend the prosciutto panini with basil.”

“They have a small selection of pastries and paninis, however; what they have is very good, the paninis are great!”

  1. What a cute coffee place that serve delicious prosciutto panini and tiramisu! It's a little pricy as we paid $27 for 2 coffee drinks, a panini and a tiramisu.  But it was good and I keep wanting more of that panini!!  Place was quaint and quiet which was nice for us to just sit, chill and enjoy some delicious food. They have some seatings in the front and more in the back and a mini patio. Definitely swing by for some snack, not really a lunch spot.

  2. Da Capo is a great little wine/coffee spot. Every time I go I try a new glass off the wine list and I haven't been disappointed yet. The coffees have a nice presentation during the day – usually in a clear glass coffee mug and saucer.

The place is narrow but set up nicely with a little bench by the front window and then bar-style seating all along the wall by the counter. In the back they have formal table seating.

They have a couple of delicious food options (which rotate) for a savory dinner – usually fresh pastas that they make right in front of you, and then there are staple panini and sandwiches which are good quality.

Even better, they host live music events so you can sip and listen. It's small, intimate, with candle light. Love it!

  3. Cute, cozy spot.

I've only ever gotten the iced cappuccino here, and it is delightful. I know that the concept of an iced cap is an oxymoron, but it's still enjoyable each time. The taste is bold and flavorful. Friendly service.

  4. Wonderful spot for breakfast. It's comfortable, cozy, even romantic, with a rear area with skylights.

Friendliest staff – shout outs to Nico and Mino. I sat and people-watched while waiting for an friend and ended up with a sample of prosciutto. A sample that convinced me to get a sandwich. Their sandwiches are made fresh every morning; I recommend the prosciutto panini with basil.

Their lattes ($4.25; credit accepted) are a bit plainer than I'd like, so I stick to their espressos and coffees.

Find Da Capo a short walk from the 96th Street 6 train. If I lived closer, I'd be here way more often.

  5. Very tasty treats, sandwiches and really good coffee. We stop here a lot on our way out of the city. Easy street parking too. If you aren't driving enjoy the beer and or wine. Friendly service too.

  6. Amazing.

This establishment is tiny but cute and clean. There are seats along the wall as well as a giant long mirror for the ladies lol. Customer service was great, no one shouting at you or rushing you for you order.

I got the tiramisu, I wasn't expecting it to be anything great but man was I surprised. The cake wasn't too moist, it held up great to every forkful I took. The very bottom layer is soaked in some wonderful goodness that makes the cake so special idk what it is but it's amazing guys. One of the best tiramisu ever.

  7. 5 stars and has over 103 reviews for a reason. I love this place! When I work around 98th street I look forward to come in this chic little cafe. They have pastries, croissants, and sandwiches food wise. A beer and wine bar as well. I'm only ever there in the morning, but Da Capo receives quite a bit of foot traffic. I can't forget to mention how friendly and awesome the staff is.

  8. It is s beautiful place. I like the seating. The selection of items is plentiful. It is a little too upscale for me. I won't pay 3-4 dollars for a coffee.
I like the concept. Obviously it is popular. There were a lot of people going in today. It may be the fact they are open on Christmas and the other places are closed.
I'll stop by for a little sweet treat now and then. It certainly is delicious.
