  1. This Popeyes is below average service and restaurant setting wise compared to the average Popeyes, in my opinion. Located at the corner of Chrystie and Canal Streets this Popeyes is a popular haven for the homeless and bus riders to sleep and just loiter around. The employees here don't really seem to mind as they also use the restrooms without purchasing anything and leave a mess. Food wise, it's fried chicken. Who doesn't love fried chicken?

  2. I don't like this particular Popeye's. You pay so much and get so little for that amount. I ordered a shrimp combo, and was literally handed around 7-8 small pieces of friend mini shrimps, small fries (around 15-20), and a biscuit, and the total was $12. It did NOT take care of my hunger, and I was still hungry afterwards. The bathroom was dirty, and the food was under-cooked. I will not be coming back to this Popeye's.

  3. Overall my experience here was pretty decent. The people are really nice. Been here a couple of times already.

Just a little sad that they didn't give me sauce for one of my orders and the wrong sauce for the other.

  4. Stopped by on a Friday night around 8:30pm. What a disaster! Lines were long and disorganized (in all different directions). There were people who were not customers waiting for their various Chinatown buses taking up all the tables with their large luggage.  A beggar even walked in and asked for change while I was on line. Limited to no air conditioning as well on a hot and humid night. I waited in line for 5 minutes and left without ordering. This Popeyes was terrible tonight and going forward if in the area I will only go to the nearby Walker St location.  F minus.

  5. Reviewing a Popeye's? I rarely review fast food restaurants, but I thought I should give a quick review to one of my favorite Popeyes locations. This one's located at the foot of Manhattan Bridge. It's a decent size for a Chinatown restaurant with adequate seating. Through the years, the best thing about this location is that there are always 9, 11, or 13 piece chicken specials. For some reason, the Popeyes at Walker Street never seems to have these types of deals. To sweeten the deal, if you are a dark meat fan, you can ask them to limit your order to legs and thighs only! I've been to other locations where they don't allow this. As for asking about white meat only, I don't know if they would allow this. As for the chicken quality, this Popeyes chicken is never overcooked, always golden brown and has high turnover, so the chicken is always hot.  In summary, I think this location is what Popeyes is meant to be.

  6. Less of a review but more of a question really…how do you report a restaurant or food establishment for food poisoning? I came in here last Friday for a late lunch because i work close by and spent Friday night in Brookdale for my troubles, hooked up to tubes on a hospital bed. I would like to repay these fine people for their generosity by contacting the health department about them. Does anyone know how to go about doing that?

  7. Fast food restaurants are almost everywhere. Except when I want fried chicken, I will always trust popeyes. I stopped by on Monday desperately wanted to dig into some juicy fried chicken and I almost sprinted to Popeyes. It is in a very convenient location and is almost always packed. I chose the option of 11 mixed (or tenders) for 13.99. They had another option of 10 for 12.99. I save 2 cents per chicken when I do the first option (haha). I had a mix of spicy and mild and they were so good. Their hot sauce is more on the sour side with a kick of heat. Popeyes will always be my favorite place to get fries at.
Tip: order a small soda because a medium costs 3.09 and it is not that much worth it.
KFC used to be my favorite chicken place, but no one can do fried chicken like popeyes. Their tenders are always good as well, except they are so stingy about their sauces. It is .25 cents for an extra sauce.
Despite the complications of their prices, I will always be back for some good finger lickin' juicy fried chicken.

  8. *Must Try: Cajun Fries! Extra addicting.
*you can never go wrong with Popeyes' mashed potatoes or buttery biscuits, especially when served hot and fresh!
*Popcorn Shrimp are tiny pieces of crunchy awesomeness.
*Fried Chicken is always crispy with juicy meat.
*expect a long wait, even if the line looks short.
