  1. My review is going to be about the one and only dish I ever get here: country style duck with flat rice noodle. I just love love love the flavor, and it pairs nicely with flat rice noodle. I don't know how to describe the flavor to those that haven't tried, but I do have one suggestion to you: TRY IT!

Customer service is not the best here, but I don't care as long as I get my duck. Unforunately, my most recent dine in experience here was so disappointing. My boyfriend and I both got the country style duck over flat rice noodle. When the waitress brought our food over, I noticed that my bowl had a lot less duck than his and the broth was also a lot lighter in color. My bowl tasted completely bland, duck and broth both! And the duck pieces I got weren't even the fleshier bits even though I got so little. 🙁 I usually finish the duck and noodles at around the same time, but this time I ended up having a bowlful of noodles left still after I already finished my duck. I guess they tried to make up for my lack of duck by giving me extra noodles.

Despite the bad experience, I do recommend this place. I still love the country style duck when it's made and served properly. I think it's safer to go earlier. In the past when I went for lunch, it's always been yummy. The last time I went about 5pm, maybe all the good parts and sauce were gone already that day.

  2. I never came here before because my mom would tell me that this place is dirty.

But this place is fast and poppin on the Friday night I came with Boo Boo. Boo Boo was in the mood for duck and I wanted curry noodles and this place served everything we wanted.

Water and tea served on styrofoam cups. That rules out the cleanliness my mom was worried about,

We ordered the mushrom and duck noodle soup, the chicken curry noodle soup, a side of chinese broccoli and the shrimp paste roll.

Bathroom is small but clean. I think they accept cc but I paid in cash,

This is not really a touristy spot for dinner. Mainly locals come here for an affordable meal.

  3. I was hungover and wanted some CHEAP and DELICIOUS Chinese noodle soup so I hopped on yelp and found Bo Ky, a bustling restuarant found in the middle of Chinatown.

We were quickly hustled to a table, given a tea pot full of water, and asked what we wanted. I read all the reviews about the singaporean noodles, but I couldn't resist trying the chicken curry noodles (I chose the big white noodles) – it was super favorful/curryful! There honestly wasnt that much noodles but it was full of meat, soup, and veggies (all the good stuff). My friends got the wonton noodle soup and the cambodian/singaporean noodles, which were tasty as well.

Best part is … the bill for 3 fat bowls of soup came out to $21.00. Couldn't ask for a better lunch!

  4. I saw the Cambodian Noodle soup and got excited, you can really only find them in California. Cambodian noodle soup (aka phnom penh noodle soup) is one of my favorite noodle soups. In California, they pack plenty of flavor with a deep pork broth flavor that comes with a huge ass pork bone. Not the case here, it's a flavorless soup with not a lot of meat. It was a big letdown compared to what Phnom Penh soup is, and I left pretty disappointed.

  5. The Real Deal!

Authentic Vietnamese and Chinese food very cheap at $4.50 -$7.50 per dish.

Unpretentious service and staff. You may have to wait a few minutes for the 2 matriarchs to get to you. Well worth it! However, once you place the order, your food arrives within 3-4 minutes.

Cash only. Closes at 10 pm daily.

Get a real feel for home cooked goodness from really great folks who are laid back, happy, kind and having fun.

Just added the very delicious Fish Noodles ( #27 on the new menu) for $9. A unique dish with the noodles made from fish served over a bed of bean sprouts plus a bowl of hot, clear soup – Wonton soup without the wontons. Owner personally served me and recommended trying the hot chili sauce in oil as an accompaniment. Great call!

Something for everyone from the safe and squeamish to the bold and " Just Bring It" range being Spring rolls to Jumbo shrimp to Curry Chicken to Cuttlefish Ball Noodles to the Pork Kidney Platter.

One Block south of Canal St on the north west corner of Bayard and Mott in beautiful Chinatown.

  6. This was an ok place, my beef noodles had decent flavor but the beef wasn't tender enough for me. My jaw felt sore after eating that bowl.

They have a good menu selection, I would come back and try other stuff. The spring rolls were a bit on the dry side also.

  7. So so so cheap. Apparently this place has been around forever because my dad had this as one of his first meals when he first came to New York.

Ordered the wonton rice noodle soup and it was pretty decent. There were A LOT of rice noodles though and they got pretty bland after awhile. Parents ordered the seafood rice noodles and those were decent too. The best part of the meal was the duck we got though! Very tender and flavorful. I don't even like duck so it was shocking how much I enjoyed it.

Very fast service. Good option for Chinatown.

  8. I used to eat at this place all the time with my Grandma when I was a little girl. Pork Chop over rice or Beef Ho Fun (flat noodles) was the way to go. Just a few days ago, I came back and it was so pleasantly nostalgic. Obviously, I ordered Beef Stew Ho Fun. There's something about the way they make the dish here that makes it taste so "home-y". The broth is very beefy and fatty, maybe a little too fatty for some. The other minor flaw would be not enough meat on the beef. I was given a lot of tendon? Even though the meat was lacking, they give you a good amount of noodles. For some reason, the noodles tend to be more favorite part so I really enjoyed this dish.

I also tried the Shrimp Spring Rolls which was surprisingly delicious. It is less fried than Vietnamese Spring Rolls but still has that crisp that I like. It is also quite soft on the inside. Pair this with the spicy duck sauce that came with the dish and it is delectable. Overall, my entire meal was satisfying and I will most likely come back.
