while i like dallas bbq this location is not my favorite at all. The staff is not that friendly they always seem like they are rushing and dont have time. They literally sit you right on top of people. I have gone on days where the restaurant is not that busy and they still will stick you so close to people that its almost as though you are at the same table. the person goes to cut their meat their elbow is in your face. Its absolutely ridiculous I have had people sweeping under my table while i'm eating the waiter/waitress comes every second like you cant even have a conversation because they want you to get out. I would not go with kids for this reason either. even for the birthdays they go sing this half dead rendition of happy birthday that is a complete embarrassment. The staff seem really unhappy here and as a patron I felt the same. The flatbush avenue location is wayyyyyyyyyy better
A friend of mine suggested this place so naturally I turn to yelp, boy the nasty reviews I obviously at this point had major reservation whether I even want to try it but I did.
It was Friday night and this place was packed to my shock we got seated right away I guess easier to find a table for 2.
Waitress was very nice and polite dispite all the negative reviews claiming they are all rude I had a pleasant experience with the staff.
I ordered boneless chicken wings which obviously is chicken fingers you don't see wings that large and in that Shape or form it was beyond delicious.
My friend ordered the ribs which was smoked texas style you could smell and taste the deliciousness.
While I enjoyed the food I don't like restaurants that are really loud where you can't hear the person next to you.
My friend raved about Dallas BBQ, so I agreed to check it out. Went on a Sunday evening, so it was pretty busy. I ordered the sticky wings, a baked potato, and cornbread with a frozen pina colada. The food was average, as was the drink. This place did not live up to the hype. It's too expensive for the mediocre food and service. Would not recommend.
Stopped by with a friend for a quick lunch and was pleasantly suprised. Can't go to Texas style bbq joint and not order beef 'que right?? Had the beef bbq ribs and yellow rice. They were EXCELLENT. Very impressive too! They come piled on the plate like dinosaur bones.. (not white shirt friendly, be warned!) The rice was plain but good. Service was great, prompt food to table, yet we were not rushed at all.. Definitely will go back..
When we got to our table the place mats still had crumbs and decent sized pieces of food on them. Also the paper napkins were stained from something that had spilled on them. That just set me up for not wanting to eat. But we are gluttons for punishment so we ordered 2 drinks and the hot wings. The flavor of the sauce was delicious; however, they came out too fast! They came out before we got our drinks. #suspicious Also I asked for blue cheese that I never received.
The drinks were good but not good enough to deserve another visit.
In my College years, I was the avid Dallas BBQ'er and they basically never let me down. I always have the same meal yellow rice, cheeseburger, and a frozen drink. No harm, no foul, reasonably priced and go about my business. I haven't came here in quite some times, but decided to come here on Christmas night with the family. Surely wasn't my first choice, but I obliged. It was not very crowded and immediately sat down. The server was nice and attentive. I was expecting a loud and ghetto atmosphere but it was mellow probably because it was Christmas.
The food was prompt and I didn't have any complaints. However, my companion did have some issues with her "crab cakes" which looked like meatballs with BBQ sauce, I was none too interested in trying them, but after she ordered them, neither was she. I did not go in with super high expectations and I had a decent time and meal.
They should do something about their bathroom though, it's not in the best condition.
I've visited this business twice before ,but at other locations and I've always loved the food. The atmosphere gave a urban vibe ,which was fine with me . Rap and R&B videos played on all of the flat screens. I ordered the sticky wings with fries and a libation. The wings are really big I only ate two and couldn't eat anymore. My friend's loved their food. We decided to split the total bill 3 ways ,which should have been about $37 bucks each, however the waitress screwed up the charges and put the whole tab on my debit card. My bank put a block on my card because she put in a total of over $100 . I had to wait on the phone for over 30 minutes trying to confirm my identity and remove the block with the banks customer service . After verifying I was myself the block was removed. My native new York friends told me that this restaurant is a hot stop for stolen cards so that visitors be sure to notify your bank ahead of time if you're a visitor. Overall food was fantastic.
Ugh! Ghetto! Ghetto Ghetto! From the customers to the workers! Come here only if it's the last option, otherwise don't waste your time. The employees are rude, you walk in and they look at you, like "what are you doing here" the menu is your placemat, the food isn't fresh, it's basically like a cafeteria. Everyone basically comes here for the cheap, sweet, going to give you a headache drinks. Never Again! If I have to mentally tell myself to "have patience" before entering a place, then it isn't for me.
