  1. Tried Lumpia Shack at Smorgasburg Seaport. We were browsing the vendors in the area and my companion wanted to try some Filipino food. I was hesitant, but also curious to see if the food lived up to the name. It was $8 for a few inch-long lumpia rolls. For someone who has grown up around this stuff, sticker shock ensued for such a premium on that small portion. But I suppose mobile kitchens have to make a buck somehow. Crisp didn't hold, rolls got cold quick under the drizzle of weak sauce. To say I was disappointed is an understatement, and I wish I could've offered a higher rating. I do hope the experience is different at the brick and mortar location. If I come across this brand on my next visit to NYC, I'll go after their bowls to see if the hype is in fact real.

  2. I came to seaport smorgasburg and felt hungry. So I got this. They ran out of cold noodle which was a bummer at 5pm. So, I got the chicken w rice and a side or pork lumpia. The chicken skewer was on the dried side. The pork lumpia was ok. I think it should be crispier but everyone have their own preference.

  3. The truffled-mushroom Lumpia are amazing fantastic spectacular delicious! And their skewered meats are not just really tender, but also smoky and juicy. And I LOVE the thick crunchy noodles. Although I really like this restaurant more now that is inside this year than I did when it was outside last year (things are fresher now, there are more seats), I still feel that the food is a little too expensive to eat here regularly; if for example they charged one more dollar and gave one extra skewer of meat then it would be a win win, a little more money for them and a lot mote value for the customer, but, until then, I will wander back periodically.

  4. I was meeting a friend for dinner in the financial district.  We typically go to Stone Street; however, we decided to venture to South Street Seaport instead to see what they had to offer.   We were pleasantly surprised to find Smorgasburg at the Seaport – and that there were outdoor spots to snag on a beautiful summer's evening.  We grabbed BBQ bowls from Lumpia Shack.  I very much enjoyed my bowl with steak and brown rice – the steak was juicy and full of flavor.  I also liked the mix of flavors and things in the bowl.  We also ordered the mushroom spring rolls.  Honestly, these were only ok.  All in all, I'd order the steak bbq bowl again – although, I would order a 3rd skewer (it comes with 2) since I was still a little hungry when i finished my dish.

  5. I came to Smorgasburg Seaport with some friends and stopped by Lumpia Shack. I got some good ole lumpia that came with sweet and sour sauce. It was yummy, but it didn't blow me out of the water. I also felt like the price didn't justify the small quantity they served. It was more of a small snack than a meal (at the price of a meal).

TL;DR: A little too pricey for just okay food.
