Hooters
“I used to go tot he older location when it was in the 50's. This location is closer to Madison Square Garden, on 33rd Street which means that it is a lot busier especially on game nights.”
“We ordered Buffalo shrimp, wings, crab legs and a salad – all were delicious.”
“Ideally located just steps away from the the Subway & PATH stations, Manhattan Mall and overlooking Madison Square Garden.”

We all know why we come here. Hot wings, hot pants and cold beer.
It's a really nice looking place, great bar, lots of seating. It's close to Penn Station, right next to the subway. You really can't beat the access.
The wings are good. They expanded the sauces since the last time I was there. They still have the old 5 flavored, but have added a few new ones, as well as rubs. They also added boneless wings. Celery, ranch and blue cheese are ala carte though. I don't remember that being the case.
The burgers…..not so great. The patty was really slim, the toppings were too abundant. I got the Baja burger, it had jalapeño and pico de gallo with guacamole and pepper jack. It wasn't bad, just not great.
They do have a good amount of beers. The beers though are a bit high priced, but it's midtown. The bartender was doing a very good job of getting to everyone. It was busy, not crazy, but she was alone back there.
Not a bad place to go. It's a good guys sports bar.
Just terrible. Simply terrible. The service is just straight garbage here. The hostess has no clue on what's available or reserved. A reservation nightmare. Two level establishment. Waitresses, bar tenders are slow. The people of Hooters who maybe Corporate should look into this. The difference between franchises are going to be the service and this is by far the worse I've been to in the country.
Grade: F
Do yourself a favor and listen to the other reviewers for this place. The boneless chicken pieces were the worst I've ever tasted in my life. Service was pretty decent, so plus one star for that. However, I was extremely disappointed by the chicken. I could go into detail about what I didn't like about the chicken, but let's just say I didn't like everything about the chicken. Would I come back here again? No. Would I recommend this place to anyone? No. This is not a dinner experience that I would like to remember.
greatest chicken wings ever. so many flavors! service was good too. the waitresses were very nice and helpful! the food came out fast and the long island ice tea hit the spot! cant wait to try all the flavors of wings. i'll be back!!
Heard the chocolate cake was phenomenal so I stopped in for a visit. Chocolate cake was fantastic! However, my server Tyler was one of the rudest servers I've come across in the city. No one came over to the table when my friends and I first sat down. When we finally did order we put dessert in first and wanted our entrees to come out second. 10 minutes later our dessert came out. Still no one had taken our drink orders, entree orders, or even had given us any silverware. My friends were eating their cake with their fingers. Half way through Tyler comes back with forks and I asked her for the check. She then took the plates and forks back (meanwhile we're still trying to finish our desserts). I asked her for the forks back and she gave me a smart remark while tossing the forks back on the table. When I asked to speak to the manager he was very nice. However, this does not make up for the rude servers they have working at their establishment. Go somewhere else to eat… We're in New York City there our numerous other options! =]
To say this place was disappointing is an understatement. My friend and I were heading to a workout class and we got there too late and they wouldn't allow us in. Of course the next logical move was to go somewhere they served drinks and fried food.
We enter the restaurant and are greeted by the host. We tell her he just want to be at the bar. She suggests upstairs because it's less crowded which it was. We take a seat at the bar and somewhat greeted by the bartender. We ask about the specials, there weren't really any. We both ordered margaritas and asked for glasses of water.
We got the drinks and my friend ordered a platter of spicy shrimp. And again asked for the water. The bar wasn't that busy so I wasn't sure why she couldn't remember. I mean we were sitting in front of her. After a third time we got our water. My friend asked for ranch to go with the shrimp. She was told it would an extra $1. Really $1. Well, the ranch never came.
I doubt I'll be running back here anytime soon. The hooters weren't great, food ok, begged for water, service bad. Ugh
Okay place to drink. Nothing great. The food was typical bar food. The service was quick and friendly was you could still find better places to drink and eat in New York. Probably something more local and unique because chains are just… Well it just doesn't capture a place's specialty.
I wouldn't say I'm a huge Hooters fan, but I've also never really had a bad experience at any location. This MSG location was no different. There wasn't anything that stood out, but I wasn't disappointed in any fashion either.
The entrance is on 33rd Street and can easily be missed. It seems small from the outside, but there are two floors and PLENTY of seating.
I usually sit at the bar and opt for wings. The atmosphere is always lively and customer service is always present. I even told my bartender that I was still (mentally) on vacation and she threw in a free shot… Now, THAT'S how you build a business!
