Meh. Atmosphere is nice, it's a cute little cafe, but the food was really bland and the service was lacking (not bad, just could have been so much better). Came here once for lunch and will not be back. Based on the other Yelp reviews it seems like their sweet options like crepes are probably better, but I feel like you can get crepes at a lot of places these days.
Nothing really stands out about this place, which is really disappointing because I really wanted to like it!
This is a charm, I am so happy I found out about this place through my coworkers. It is a cute and charming cafe. The food is amazing and you don't have to wait for a long time for your food to come out. Quick and great service. Definitely coming back to this treasure place.
A really authentic French restaurant! Feels like Paris when you walk in. My waitress, Clara, who I think is the owner, is from France. She was very helpful with assisting me with my choice of galette.
I ordered a turkey, tomato, and brie galette while my fiance ordered a spinach, salmon, and cheese galette. Both were very good! You can choose a side, chips, fruit, or salad or for $1 more, you can add fries. The fries were perfectly crispy.
The decor is very cute and Parisian. There are paintings on the wall and murals painted right on all over the restaurant. They play French accordion music which added to the feel of the environment. Coffee was good as well.
The cafe is small, although busy we were seated right away. My only criticism is that the menu is VERY extensive. Sometimes that can be a bit overwhelming when there are so many choices to go through on your first visit.
Free slice of cake offer for yelp check in was a plus! We chose the tiramisu though there were several choices ranging from Apple pie, to chocolate, to almond cake and more. Very happy with our experience I'll definitely be back.
Definitely a go-to spot in Metuchen! A small cafe with a Parisian theme and beautiful austere deco. I came here with my sister for crepes but it's a good place for breafast, lunch, and dessert. The menu also offers soups, appetizers, entrees, hors d'oeuvres, sandwiches, coffees/teas…as well as selection of vegetarian items.
My sister and I tried the Crepe Chocolate D'Amour for ~$11. It's a bit pricey but they give fairly large servings. We split one between the two of us. We waited for around 5 minutes until our order arrived and we were pleasantly served w/ a large crepe topped with fresh strawberries, chocolate syrup, and wild berry sauce. The crepe skin itself was not too thin or thick, nor was it cooked too crispy. Service was very friendly and crepe was enjoyable, but I'm curious to come back and try the other menu items next time.
Good food but expensive. I've been going here occasionally for the last few years and every time the prices are higher and the plates smaller. The vegetable soup is great and most of the crepes are very good. Their is not much competition for them in this area, so the best place for casual French fare in this area.
Came across this place when looking for a brunch with outside seating in central new jersey. Was pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem. It's situated on the main street in Metuchen where there are boutique shops and small stores.
There are a few tables set up outside the actual restaurant so we sat outside. I had the banana crepe and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and explained things on the menu when we had questions. They're known for their creeps and there are plenty of them on the menu.
High recommend this place, especially in the warmer months of the year where you can sit outside. It's great to go on a weekend for brunch as the streets are very quiet which makes the experience that much more enjoyable.
sandwich au jambon du parme was very tasty, served with a nice salad. the interior of the restaurant is quite nice and clean, service was good, and the espressos my friend and i got after our meal were utterly perfect!!! i shall return. lots of tasty looking pastries and for sure i wanna try the crepes.
This was a great little find for lunch. I used Yelp to find a good lunch spot, but that wasn't really my thing. Luckily, Cafe Paris was just up the block.
With walls covered in scenes of Paris and French music playing overhead, Cafe Paris does a great job of living up to its name. I had the mozzarella salad, which was very nicely presented with a more generous serving than I had expected.
Service was very friendly and the food came out quickly. But, judging from the crowd, this also looked like a great place to meet and catch up with friends.
There's food to go for follks on the run.
I love Paris and this was a great little homage to the City of Lights in Metuchen! Bon appetit!
