It's basically a fast food rotisserie chicken chain. It's a little pricier than other fast food restaurants, but you do get something healthier. If you order the lunch special, as I did, with the 1/4 rotisserie chicken it comes out to under $10 before tax. You get a fresh salad, a side, pita bread, your chicken, and a canned soda or water. Overall, it's a good deal and you will be full after this.
They have other options running into the $15-20 range.
The place is clean and the service is fine.
Yuck,
Most bland piece of chicken ever and of gross parts. It looked like a chickens spine was part of the piece they gave me when I ordered 1/4 rotisserie chicken ($6)
And the tomato sauce was gross. I went home and mixed sriracha and ketchup to eat the bland chicken with.
Chirping Chicken is a nice addition to the UES. Interestingly enough, this is a Greek establishment. A lot of the sides are Greek – greek salad, lemon potatoes, feta cheese pie.
The chicken and ribs are delicious (the UES needed a good rib place). The french fries are good and salty. The (feta) cheese pie was really good. The rice and beans were good and the lemon potatoes were delicious.
I would definitely order from them again.
I was hungry and wanted a quick, cheap lunch. This place suited that need.
I had the chicken gyro. The chicken was a bit dry, but not bad. Maybe I'm spoiled by the gyros in Astoria, but I wasn't wowed by it. I would have liked a bit more meat (even if slightly dry) and less lettuce. The white sauce wasn't bad.
I thought the service was okay. Granted, it was a Sunday and the place wasn't crowded, but my gyro arrived a few minutes after my order. Other reviews cited the attitude of the people there, but the woman who took my order wasn't rude or surly.
I guess if I am in the area and want a quickie lunch, I will go here again. If I really have an urge for a gyro or souvlaki, however, I think I'll wait until I am back in my neighborhood.
This is the kind of place to go for takeout after a tiresome day at work.. The rotisserie chicken is really tasty and juicy, nicely browned and seasoned skin. My go to sides are the mashed potatoes or rice . Mac n cheese is meh, kinda gross actually so avoid. I also enjoy the greek salad with grilled chicken. Big portion of well seasoned grilled chicken atop a bed of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, peppers, feta and grape leaves. Comes with pita, but make sure you order a small side of tziki sauce cause it doesn't come with but it goes nicely with the salad. The chicken and rice soup is quite good.
