I miss DeLuxe, but 77 is just as great! Quaint 11-seater coffee shop. Try the New Orleans style cold brew. It's a bit on the expensive side for an iced coffee, but the taste is out of this world! Will return for a pastry or snack when I want to cheat on my diet.
Pro-tip: the barista has a heavy hand with the milk, no matter what you say. So speak up, or else you'll be drinking pure milk. 😉
Can't stop thinking about the iced honeybee latte that I had last week. The flavor is truly unique, not clawlingly sweet but rather subtle with just the right amount of honey, milk, and of course coffee. New Orleans brew is also delicious.
Haven't sat to order food yet, but croissant was flaky and buttery.
Croissant donuts are available on the weekends, but I can't say the maple one I had was any good. However, the cardamom pistachio bread is delicious!
I see this being my go-to coffee shop from now on.
Came in around 1 something in the afternoon with intentions of grabbing a quick chai tea latte with a pastry. Upon seeing the hot apple cider chai, I couldn't resist. So I got that along with a pumpkin loaf slice. That Apple cider chai has changed my life for the better. My tongue still hurts from sipping it with the utmost delight but I don't even care. Priced are average cafe price, I'd say. $2.75 for a bagel with cream cheese, $3.50 for a small latte, etc. The cashier was helpful with recommendations as well as polite. As far as seating there are 2-4 singular window seats and enough space for 3-4 groups of two to sit at the tables. It's a pretty small place.
Very impressed.
Stopped here for a latte and left wondering why I haven't been here sooner.
On a whim I had the coconut kiss. Damn, this thing was good. Perfect balance of coconut flavor which was not overpowering, and coffee. Often when ordering drinks like this whatever flavoring they put in teams up with the sugar to drown out the coffee taste. This was not the case here, well crafted.
This is a small cafe with a great vibe and a must visit if you in the market for a date spot. I didn't have any food but I believe they do offer some small meals.
Check this place out.
Although DeLuxe still holds a dear space in my heart, I think Espresso 77 is onto something good here. They've been open less than a week but already have an impressive menu and a broad range of beverages to satisfy caffeine junkies (both coffee and tea menus are robust!). I also noticed they are offering some interesting specialty coffee drinks featuring infusions like honey, which I'll have to try next time.
While I came here just for a plain cold brew, I did see a beautiful plate of French toast being served to a couple of gents seated in the corner, so I'll definitely swing by for a casual breakfast sometime soon. Some touches from DeLuxe are still around (like the original no smoking signage), but overall it seems like they are trying to branch out from their predecessor. The woman helping me today was enthusiastic and sweet, so I hope that energy persists!
4.5 stars, -half a star just cuz I prefer my cold brew a little more intense, but the average joe will love it.
