Chipotle Mexican Grill

“There was what seemed like a long line but it moved very quickly as the servers are systematic and quick.”

“But seriously, this new location is a game changer for us, as a bunch of us UES-ers have been gunning for a nearby Chipotle.”

“I'll say that the portion size wasn't as massive as I was accustomed to, but the flavor made up for it.”

  1. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that had a positive experience, looking at all the other reviews. Chipotle is a great option for those that want to get something to grab and go and for those that are indecisive about what to eat (although the nearby Shake Shack is tempting too). Service was standard and you can always expect the same quality over and over again. My usual order is their bowl with chicken, lettuce, cheese, corn and black beans.

  2. I love me some Chipotle, especially a barbacoa fajita burrito with nearly all the fixins. And, given that I've recently had a terrible Chipotle experience (bland, inedible!), I was happy to find that this was the best Chipotle experience I have had… the lime of the rice extremely potent and wonderful, the barbacoa nearly perfect without overtaking everything else with salt, the salsa fresh and flavorful. The only drawback is you pay $9 instead of $6 elsewhere in the country–but hey, that's NYC (even though I was tempted to go to an Indian place serving dishes for half off… $6!).

  3. A great Chipotle location. Consistent quality of food, reasonably clean, and customer service is good.
Heads up: Pack patience, usually a line.

  4. The only thing I regret is that this Chipotle wasn't here when I was working full-time. However, it can be safely stated that I eat at this Chipotle pretty much every day that I have work on the UES.

The staff is efficient, with a quick turnover of sometimes long lines. Food is good, and blessedly, there always manages to be enough seats available despite the large packs of people that come in (students coming straight from school, especially).

  5. I love Chipotle.  Please note that this review is for this location only, as I've experienced much better at other Chipotles.

So, I came here around 6PM- crowded as usual, I mean it was dinnertime.  There are rarely any seats here, so I usually end up eating at home.

The staff does try to be quick yes, but they end up being quick that the quality of my friend's burrito is super low.  It doesnt even look like a burrito because it ripped, seeing how quickly she wrapped it.  They don't really give you as much as you could get and asking for more will lead you to a nasty look.

It's also loud there, so be aware that most of the time, you will have to say what you want twice and they might get it wrong.

But, Chipotle still tastes awesome, so three stars because the place isn't great, but the food is.

  6. Recently opened location close to the 86th street subway stop. Basic looking Chipotle with the standard high tables counter space to eat at. Clean and new this spot is a decent choice when you need a comfort food type meal.

Still like the burrito bowl. Grilled chicken, pinto beans, shredded cheese, guacamole, salsa and lettuce on a bed of rice. I always feel like a total fattie when I eat here. A burrito will cost you around $10 which is a bit pricey especially when Patty's Taco Truck is sometimes stationed a few blocks away and has kick ass burritos for only around $7.

Will never go out of my way to eat here, but at least it's an option if I crave a quick Chipotle fix.

  7. My go-to fast food joint.
I definitely recommend the chicken or beef soft tacos with peppers, corn, pico de gallo, mild salsa, lettuce, a bit of cheese and some guacamole.
This will cost about $10-11. Really expensive for some "fast food" hunh?
But produce and meat are fresh, taste great and allegedly organic.

This new location is on the UES so it's in a convenient location for me; service here is average, oftentimes the people making your order are faster than the cashier so you end up waiting as your food sits there getting cold.

The place is usually clean. It can get ridiculously crowded evenings and weekends.
Oh and I must warn you: if you take Chipotle to go, the tacos don't microwave well. Not sure why, they just don't.
I must also warn you: they now offer brown rice. Don't do it. Doesn't taste the same in a burrito.

  8. I love this place! I venture out of my way regularly to dine at this wonderfully (yet surprisingly modern) delicious chipotle. They have plenty of bottles (and flavors) of hot sauce, so that's a HUGE plus. Chipotle never disappoints and the people behind the counter have a great sense of humor, although they do tend to rush you through the line and will give you an annoyed face if you ask to have your burrito mixed.
