Fiesta Grill Restaurant and Banquet Hall
“I love the turo turo, meaning there are several choices and you point to what you want, rice/pancit with 2 choices is like $5!”
“Awesome family-style Filipino restaurant with a parking lot and a dance floor devoted to line dancing (parties on Friday, I hear).”
“But this one, unlike the one on Newark Avenue, also has a menu where you can order what you want.”

Most filipino restaurants serve food buffet style. Point out what you want and get it (turo-turo). I don't like this style because the food isn't quite what i'd call fresh. If you go here, stick with whatever they have to make to order, like the sisig or the crispy pata.
Sisig is OK, not my favorite place to get sisig. (Mama Fina's). Crispy pata (deep fried pork knuckle) is pretty hard to mess up so it's pretty good.
Awesome family-style Filipino restaurant with a parking lot and a dance floor devoted to line dancing (parties on Friday, I hear). Staff is friendly and efficient and food is served super-quick, super-cheap, and buffet style. You can get different curries, things like tripe, oxtail, barbecued pork, and vegetable stews of okra, eggplant, squash, and bitter gourds. Tons of selections and lots of interesting stuff you've never had before. Pancit is on tap.
I'm not a bubble tea guy but the smoothie I had with tapioca was just delicious. I would definitely return.
I am hereby removing a whole star from my previous review due to an experience a friend and I had eating at this restaurant on a Wednesday night.
It would seem that this establishment has turo-turo (see the explanation of this term in my previous review) and limited a la carte options on weeknights.
My friend and I ordered the lumpia shanghai, classic pork sisig, and from the turo-turo area, the bistek (beef steak).
The lumpia shanghai was the best part of our meal, and the sisig could have been a bit more crispy. The bistek, however, was extremely bland and quite tough in terms of texture. Generally, Filipino bistek is supposed to be sour and a bit salty.
But the blandness of the bistek is not the reason why I am updating my review of this establishment.
Towards the end of our meal, my stomach began to feel quite funny. Although the food we ordered was quite greasy, I don't normally have a problem with digesting the food.
My friend was less fortunate; his face began to become red with itchy hives, and he had to run to his in-laws' place for allergy medicine immediately after our meal. He, too, does not normally have a problem with the food at this establishment.
We suspect that the oil used in the fryer to prepare the food was "improperly aged."
I will be avoiding this place during the week and would strongly suggest that readers steer clear of this place on weeknights as well.
When visiting St. Peter's University, it was very convenient to find Filipino food just a short distance away; it happened to be raining that day, so it was nice to not have to walk that far.
One the weekend, my friends and I ordered different rice combinations for lunch. I tried the pork adobo which was rather good and satisfying. The pork was tender and juicy and the adobo flavor wasn't too overwhelming. There's a huge variety of dishes available to order and I'd say it was actually very difficult deciding what I wanted to try.
By recommendation, I also tried a separate order of a pork kawali; I don't recall the exact dish name – I asked my friend to order it for me. The dish itself is fried pork slices that has a very very crisp and crunchy fatty skin layer. It has a slightly-salty slightly-sweet marinate that gives the pork a solid flavor but at the same time it isn't supposed to be a juicy dish so it has a dry crunch with each bite.
Both dishes were enjoyable and I'd recommend both whether you like one as a soft juicy pork and the other which was a dry crunchy pork.
Everyone at the counter was very friendly and was very helpful in accommodating each and every one of our orders.
Came here for a party, the food was delicious! I had the kare-kare which was delicious and the fried chicken which was so crispy and tasty. I would definitely come back here if it wasn't so far from were I live.
They also have parking across the street from the restaurant which is always a plus. However, crossing the street is like playing frogger because the cars zoom by and won't let us cross the street. Other than that, no complaints here.
back again. cant beat $5 for two entrees and pancit. got the beef stew and steak with a coconut water on the side. lunchtime winner. yum
Filipino Restaurant that has a small buffet but also makes food to order. Food wasn't that bad at all. I'm no expert but I enjoyed almost everything that was ordered. Sorry, no dish names. Large space with a big dance floor for line dancing.
Two stars?? Why do almost all the Asian restaurants in the area look and feel rundown and a little bit dingy?? The interior looks like it was last updated when Carter was president and looked like it was last cleaned when the first Bush was president. That doesn't really influence my decision to eat somewhere but it does irk me. It's like the owners take no pride in what their business looks like. Oh well……
Large TV's everywhere which kinda sucked when the party next to us wanted to watch the NFL playoffs and the workers blasted the sound for the first half. Not very conducive to a nice dinner and conversation. The music for the dance floor started at 8pm which competed with the football game.
The bathrooms were atrocious!! The men's room smelled like it was Satan's urinal cake before he was kicked out of Heaven!! The urinals wouldn't flush, two out of three stalls were broken, and no soap or hand drying items at all. The women's room ceiling was leaking all over the place. The handicap bathroom was ok till it flooded. The workers didn't really seem too concerned about it…
Lastly, the service sucked at first. No one approached us to ask for drinks or to provide water. That took 35 minutes to accomplish. After that, they were ok.
Would I want to go back? No. But I would eat there again..
Have Fun
