The food is like 4 or 4.5 out of 5.
But I docked a star because their coffee was awfully bitter (almost acidic) and made my friend sick. She couldn't even finish her food.
I ordered the special of the day, smoked salmon over scrambled eggs with cream cheese. It came with their unique shitake mushroom hash (delish) and a side salad. Overall, I enjoyed the food.
The service was friendly.
The server had issues remembering our order but I must give them credit for trying to make up for it. My poor friend had awful coffee and that ruined her meal. They didn't even have gingerale for her upset stomach and she couldnt finish her meal.
I ordered their farmers brunch plate. It was okay. This is just another casual brunch spot. Happy I tried but I don't think I need to have it again.
Very cozy atmosphere and a great place for a group brunch. Food was amazing. We had a reservation but we still had to wait 15 minutes. Our server was super, super nice but unfortunately had gotten confused at some points. Two orders came out messed up and the toast didn't arrive with anybody's meals until about 15 minutes later. One member of our party had to wait a long time for her food to get fixed. They ended up giving her the meal for free which was really nice! Blueberry jam is awesome. This restaurant is also in an ideal location to take visitors to explore Union Square afterwards. It's cool that they also sell their jams, scone mixes, etc.
Located on quiet W. 20th street next to the original Spoon, this place isn't bad for a low-key Brunch spot. We waited a few minutes to be seated, and ordered drinks right away. I had an Irish Coffee with baileys, which came hot with whipped cream on top. It was pretty good sized too! I ordered the breakfast skillet and it was just OK. It was piping hot for one thing, but the flavors weren't really great. It felt more like a hot hash than a breakfast skillet.
The ambiance is cute and small. It looks like an old warehouse, with exposed brick and piping on the ceiling. Service was very nice too. I never had my water refilled and they were slow, but still friendly.
Overall, it was not a top Brunch spot for me. It's not terribly expensive or crowded, but I don't plan on coming back through any time soon.
Good place to come for brunch near the Flatiron district. Would recommend the Type A Omelette – you can choose 2 ingredient add-ons ranging from Vermont Cheddar Cheese, Manchego, Feta, Gruyere, Goat, Avocado, bacon, ham, crimini mushrooms, peppers & onions, spinach, tomatoes, or pico de gallo. And $2 for each additional add-on. Went with spinach inside and avocado on the side – healthy.
The place looks great. The coffee was good and the food was yummy! It is a fun brunch place to try!
Came around noon on a Tuesday. Service was friendly and the place wasn't too crowded, but the panini I ordered had clearly been prepared earlier in the day and had just been sitting out. It was still okay, but it was pretty soggy by the time it got to me. The pastries were great, though–I had the brownie and my friend had a poppyseed scone, and they were both awesome.
I probably won't be back here for lunch, but now that I'm reading other reviews, I'm thinking I should give their weekend brunch a chance
Quick little grab and go place where the food seems to lean towards the healthy end. If the line is too long for Sweetgreen you can head over here, which is what actually happened to us.
Most of their staple soups, sandwiches, and salads are in the two refrigerators close to the front door when you walk in. This also has their side salad which changes everyday. The items in these refrigerators cannot be heated at the counter and more for a grab and go to heat and eat elsewhere. My friend tried to get a chicken pot pie, but put it back because there was no way to heat it up. They seem to only have those large soup kettle warmers and panini presses. Hot entrees, soups, and sandwiches can be purchased at the counter. These rotate on a daily basis.
I have been here twice and both times got the rotating side salad for $6.50.The first time here I tried the farro salad with artichoke, parmesan, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, and chopped herbs dressed with red wine vinaigrette. The second time I had the bulgar chickpea salad over mixed greens with cucumber celery, grape tomato, feta, black olives, and red wine vinaigrette. Both may seem overly healthy, but topped with the cheese it's actually pretty tasty. They come in one of those small takekout clam shell containers. It seems small at first, but they pack the salad to the top, so it's quite filling.
They have quite a few seats in the back and it was not crowded at all during lunch time. Great alternative to your typical salad places. I have yet to come here for brunch, but their brunch menu seems pretty legit for a grab and go place.
