Just like a nice hometown regular diner, nice staff an their is always seating. Decent food. I enjoy coming here ESP when I'm out running errands all morning an forgetting to eat. Definitely a friendly spot a lot of my family order from here as well.
This cute little diner in Staten Island was so accommodating to our needs that it deserves five stars!
My boyfriend and I decided to take a random biking adventure to Staten Island on Martin Luther King Day. We were initially going to dine at the Gavel Grill near the ferry terminal, but the place was unfortunately closed. We biked around aimlessly for a diner (Note to Yelpers: Staten Island has TONS of delis and mini markets, but brunch places and cafes are VERY difficult to find!) and finally settled on Jerry's 637 Restaurants via Yelp.
Jerry's is one of those friendly neighborhood diner with breakfast food served all day. After browsing the menu, I decided to get the Two Eggs + Two Pancakes Combo ($7.25) with a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham. Right as the waitress was taking our order, the french toast also caught my eyes. I asked if I could get one pancake and one French Toast, and she said yes! Most places don't allow substitution or modification, so I was very happy for the adjustment.
Our food came out in about 15 minutes. The eggs were poached perfectly! One of my pet peeves is when the poached eggs is overcooked, yet these were perfectly runny, watery and yolky, just the way I like them! The bacon strips were nice and crispy. The highlights are definitely the French toast and pancakes. The French toast wasn't overly greasy or covered in egg, while the pancakes were fluffy and had the right consistency throughout. These tasted AMAZING with runny egg yolks, maple syrup, and some orange marmalade.
Maybe it was because I was hungry, but I was extremely satisfied with the food, the service, and the portion! Why can't places like Jerry's (with the same prices…) exist in Manhattan?
