  1. Grand Ferry Tavern
    NY BK North Williamsburg
    7pm Thursday 28th January 2016
    Four Stars

Located on Kent and Grand, just off the water, the Grand Ferry Tavern is a throwback bar with a hipster population. Everybody is wearing a beanie inside and has a beard with half of the population wearing glasses. The long L shaped Bar seats 15 with some scattered standing room and restaurant atmosphere in the back. I used my whiskey passport to get their signature Manhattan #2308 which features their own single barrel 101 Proof whiskey. They also had a $5 Oyster upgrade to sample their four types of oysters. It came the classic accoutrements of cocktail sauce, minette, and malt vinegar. The oysters were from Massachusetts and a Rhode Island.  Overall it was a fun bar.

  2. I made a rez for Saturday night although it was not necessary since it was largely empty. The menu was solid and the drink menu looks long. We started with the one dozen oysters sampler, clams casino, marrow bone (AMAZING. OMG. AMAZING.), kale & brussels sprouts salad, littleneck linguini, the peacemaker (deep-fried oysters sandwich), and two of their special: a chicken dish and mussels.

They were all really good and I thought the menu had a good variety. There was a large party that occupied the outdoor area and some of the tables near the back. They were REALLY loud and the acoustics trapped the noises inside so it was really difficult to hear, but I can see myself going back.

  3. I like this place, I don't love it, and the price demands that you love it. The outside area is cute but plain, and I always get eaten alive my mosquitos. The inside is a cool dark wood that has a cozy vibe. The menu is the same year round, so as a vegetarian, I'm eating shepherds pie all yearlong. The drinks are good and the service is typically decent–some times it's great while others it leaves something to be desired. I never recommend this place, but I don't argue when someone else suggests it.

  4. Wonderful spot on the Kent Ave waterfront in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with a vibe much like it's pier establishment the Richardson. With an impressive cocktail and beer selection, very friendly and accommodating staff and vintage decor it is a great place to relax and catch up on conversations with friends. Certainly worth the short walk from the Bedford L.

  5. First off, it is a breathtakingly beautiful space.  You step in and are taken back to a different era.  Going there after work with coworkers, I felt a little underdressed.  The bar is a dark space with a large wooden bar and antique floral wallpaper.  The dining room which follows is a little brighter.  Truly a beautiful space.

There is no happy hour (I asked).  Drinks are awesome.  A few classic and some with a new twist and a decent bar menu.  I didn't try much food, only their fries which were great.

A great spot and truly beautiful!
