  1. I've only ever ordered take-out from here but the spinach artichoke dip is the. best. ever. Seriously. Spinach artichoke is my go-to app whenever it's offered on a menu but what they serve at Woodbines hands down better than any other.
I've also had their sliders which I give two thumbs up!  The only weird thing is that the fries were not the same kind the two times I ordered. First time was plain french fries. Second time was the deep-fried, super crispy fries. Don't matter to me because the sliders were consistently great each time!

  2. Located only a few blocks from the 7 train this is a great spot for some drinks and a quick meal.  Woodbines has a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.  They have a really nice a large drink menu with some excellent craft bear options.

I opted for the Big Alice LIC Native White Stout and the chicken sandwich. The Big Alice was quite intriguing as I don't think I have ever had a white stout before.  It paired nicely with the grilled chicken sandwich that was topped with grilled soppressata, fresh mozzarella,  and arugula, and a pomegranate glaze that really brought the sandwich together.  It was served on ciabatta bread and I love ciabatta bread.  The chicken was cooked perfectly and was nicely charred with a nice smokey flavor.  It also came with a side of fries that were nicely crisped on the outside with soft center.  The whole meal was perfectly portioned and at $13 not a bad price either.

  3. Came here for a late dinner once. Good casual spot for meeting up with some friends or just getting a bite to eat. Pub-like atmosphere, great staff.

  4. I loved this place.  Glad I went in for both food and drinks.

The shrimp appetizer was good…the breading was ok on the shrimps…but the dipping sauce that they came with was amazing.  Made the dish.

I got the sliders for my meal and they came with french fries and were great.

The pilsner beer on tap was good as well.

I will defs be coming back.

  5. Cool little bar we discovered while just walking around in LIC area

    Good fish and chips
    Good Whiskey selection

  6. The sliders as so damn good I swear. Yes, it is pricey but it is so worth it believe me. The spinach / artichoke dip was really good. The chips they gave with were these thick triangle shaped things, very tasty.  The regular burger was just ok tho I've had better but I was just so impressed with the other things I had to give this place 5 stars.

Make sure you take the G or 7 train there because then you have a straight walk to the place. The decor was just what we were looking for. Don't expect it to be some fancy place. They had a lot of craft beers if you're into that sort of thing.

  7. I am new to the area and was in search of a neighborhood pub with a good burger. I found that here at Woodbines. I enjoyed the warm, relaxed atmosphere. It's all wood and dim lighting, which is exactly what I was hoping for. We sat at a table in the back for dinner, which was nice, but it seems like a great place to sit at the bar also.

Our server was great and gave us awesome recommendations. I had the Woodbines burger and it was top notch! Can't go wrong with a burger that has some coleslaw on it. It was cooked perfectly and tasted great, with a little bit of char to it. The fries were solid as well — always important. They offer several varieties. I for one can never resist truffle, so that's what I went with.

My dinner bud got the fish and chips. We agreed it wasn't the crispiest, but the flavor was there. The salt and pepper shrimp make for a nice, light appetizer and the cocktail list is solid. If you're the type that loves an occasional dark and stormy or moscow mule, this is your spot! I'll be back for sure, and I have a feeling this is going to be my go-to burger in LIC. We'll see!

  8. Cute and relaxed restaurant. I can see this being a neighborhood favorite. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. I had the veggie stacker sandwich that came with eggplant, portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper and mozzarella. Good portion size, nicely roasted and tasty. It was served on a toasted ciabatta – I'm not a fan of ciabatta in general (too much dough/bread for me) so half way through I just ate the veggies. Maybe the stacker would be better as a wrap? Every burger and sandwich is served with fries and they give you a lot in a wire basket. Thick cut and fresh, they were also very good.

Service was friendly and good vibes all around. I'd definitely go back the next time I'm in LIC.
