  1. I am SO stuffed right now! I completely underestimated how filling the rice noodles would be, so my boyfriend and I got 3 beef and 3 pork….AND 2 tofu flowers.
I love that we can watch the rice noodles be made from scratch, it really reassures me of its freshness. There's a little sauce station where you can make your own mix, then bag it to go.

Prices can't be beat. It's so cheap for delicious food, fresh soy milk, and dou fu hua! It was 11.50 for all of the food we ordered, and we'll definitely have enough for dinner tonight.

If you go on a Sunday, be warned that they might run out of stuff. I went on Sunday evening right before they closed, hoping to try some of their noodles but they were out. This time I went on a Friday afternoon and was fully satisfied! The portions are deceptively large. Even the small tofu flower soup was almost too much for me and my boyfriend.

I'm so happy this exists in our neighborhood. Can't wait to bring my parents here!

  2. Wong Kwong Hop is a very interesting place.  This place is not for the faint of heart.  I went there on Friday at about 1:30p and they were cleaning up their shop but they were still taking and filling orders.  They were literally steaming and scrubbing the floors and all of their machines while I was standing near the front door.   It's straight out a factory that churns out fresh tofu, soy milk, tofu deserts, rice noodles, and more.  People were coming in to buy large orders of tofu and soy milk.  I ordered a few of their beef rice noodles with scallions and also dried shrimp rice noodles with scallions 12 orders to be exact.  The woman who took my order literally makes it right in front of you, just banged them out really quickly.  She just oiled up a tray and added a very thin layer of their rice noodle liquid threw in about a little more than a tablespoon of meat then scallions mixed it around the tray and placed it into the steamer.  This steamer holds 3 large trays at a time.  It took about 3 or 4 minutes per sheet. When the first tray was done and placed into the container the  woman asked me if I wanted to eat it now.  There was about 4 sauces you can choose  from peanut sauce, hoisin sauce, sriracha or sweet soy sauce.  I chose their sweet soy sauce.  It was so delicious, soft tender rice noodle with a little meat and scallion, pipping hot with sweet soy sauce which gave it really a great flavor.  If you can over look the lack of decor and ambiance this is definitely a place to try.

  3. Whenever they're still serving breakfast, I always come and order a min. of 9 rice noodles. Yeah Im the one making others wait. Last time I was there I only bought some fried tofu, I think it was a lil past 3:30… The fried tofu goes really well with the seafood dish I made before so I always make sure I have some frozen.
Im not a fan of tofu fa…but sometimes I'll get a small container for my mom. She likes it but she doesn't think the syrup is sweet enough. I haven't tried the soy milk yet since I haven't really seen anyone else buy it!

  4. Rice Roll Menu only served on Friday, Saturday & Sunday! A middle age lady working her butt off, whipping up delicious rice rolls… It's soO busy sometimes, the lines are out the door… No bathroom breaks for her!

Bring your own container or use one of there's. Every sauce at your disposal Ahhhhhhh (Homer Simpson Drooling) Squirt as much as U want. When it starts looking like a soup, u are doing it right! The rice rolls are good, but not as good as spots in Chinatown. Definitely as fresh as it gets here in the Hurst.

FYI: Bean Curd Dessert w/ extra sweet syrup is sOo Good

  5. Nothing compares to a mini factory churning out chow fun- ready to be slice to broad noodles or thin noodles or even bow-ties (now where did I put my cookie cutters?). Freshly made Soy Milk, Tofu, etc… and they were all piping hot.

I have been here twice and after the breakfast rush. Missed seeing all the heavy machinery in operation. This is a family fun business and they are just the sweetest. My mom spent under $20 bucks and we get two containers of soy milk, box filled with tofu, two bags of Chow Fun, two containers of Dou Fu Fa (Bean Curd Jelly) put in fridge till it gets cold.

Will be back to try their breakfast items. From the outside it looks relatively small. Once you walk in and see the machinery, who knew they produce so many versatile items for retail and wholesale to businesses.

  6. This factory produces and package rice rolls, fishballs, soy milk, and tofu products to be sold to consumers or retailers such as your local supermarket. Come here to get them fresh and straight from the producer at a much cheaper price. My family normally comes here for their big bag of fresh rice rolls and soy milk to bring home. But who knew, there is more than it meets the eye! This place also sells rice roll breakfast specials on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays!

Dried Shrimp with Scallions is my go-to rice roll of choice. I tend to love salty food and the saltiness of the dried shrimp is just perfect for me. No need to add extra soy sauce but I do it anyway! Minced beef with scallions is a popular favorite here. The tiny pieces of minced beef is very tender and adds flavor to the rice roll. Add the egg for a dollar extra!

Rice rolls are freshly made as you order. The man by the door takes your order, brushes oil up and down the huge tray, puts in your choice of ingredient, pours the rice roll mixture, pops it into the steamer, and after a few minutes comes the hot, steamy, and softest rice roll you will get! Your choice of sauce at the counter – sriracha, soy sauce, peanut sauce, and a sweet sauce.

Rice rolls are quite different from restaurant quality, it is much more softer texture and may require more sauce. It tastes more homemade of course. I do personally like it better here.

I also do recommend their soy milk and tofu dessert. They are freshly made and amazing!

  7. Considering this is the only thing close to the Chinatown carts/store fronts that sell rice noodles and tofu flower soup, I'll take it! Really glad we decided to try this for breakfast/lunch one day. We ordered two beef rice noodle, a shrimp rice noodle and a tofu flower soup for under $6 is always a steal. Gotta love Chinese food. The rice noodle is freshly made so brace yourself for a significant wait. They're good with knowing who was waiting and who ordered to keep the line flowing. You can also purchase large or small packs of rice noodle to go. The tofu flower soup was standard with taste but what was unique was the bean curd stick inside. Very different from others I tried and it's not bad for you so I'm for it! I liked their rice noodle but wish there was more beef. Otherwise, I'm a fan and would definitely return if I'm craving these dishes.

  8. This place fascinates me. There are massive machines turning out chow fun noodles, then there is a guy in front of this small steam box turning out made to order Churn Fun aka steamed rice rolls. The place is basically just a store front and take out is your only option. I thought it was really cool seeing the constant stream people of coming in and out ordering food supplies from the Chow Fun noodles to bean sprouts, presumably for their restaurant. They are only open Fri- Sun from 7:30am- 3:30pm. Oh, btw, you add sauces on your own and the Churn Fun are a only $1.50………… go ham for cheap!

    The food:

Fish Ball Rice Roll- I thought these were great, the texture of the dough was softer than what I am used to but these suckers are steamed to order, kudos to that. I really like the fish ball, the fish ball didn't have a generic taste. I had this with three out of the four sauces except the chili and I thought the sauces went really well. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Beef Rice Roll- Yet again, the texture was great. The beef was not really a noticeable factor, kind a second fiddle. The meat was still a good option but safe. yelp.com/user_local_phot…

Pork Rice Roll with Egg- I enjoyed the flavor of the pork, not too sure what the egg for .50 cent adds but it's worthy of the addition. My Chinese friend says this one tastes like China to him. yelp.com/user_local_phot…
