Upscale dining at an affordable price! After walking around Central Park for a while, I was a little gross and frumpy and developed quite a large appetite. They had their menu propped up outside and the building itself was beautiful so I decided to go in for brunch. I definitely felt under dressed in leggings and a tank top, but luckily the wait staff made me feel like a queen! The interior decorations were so elegant and lively, it was one of the nicer establishments I've ever been in. The wait staff was above and beyond attentive and always smiling. They take conventional menu items and twist them into gourmet creations! I ordered the eggs and bacon expecting fried eggs with a couples slices of bacon, but instead I received a perfectly plated array of pork belly, potato hash, sunny side up egg and side of fresh greens. Not to mention, they give you complimentary bread with the BEST tasting butter I have ever had. I don't know what they lace their butter with but I could have eaten it like a bowl of ice cream. They also top off your meal with a chocolate truffle. I love this place and can't wait to go back!
Absolutely love this place! I love the caviar and foie gras and exceptional croissant. It's Martha Stewart's favorite in the city, and I get why. The cafe is super cute. Service was excellent! I thought prices were reasonable.
This quaint little French-style shop is located directly across from the park. It has seating for about 20 people max in the back of the place. We had a pastry and coffee while we were here. I chose the blueberry muffin and we also got the chocolate croissant with some skim milk. Both were scrumptious! They also sell cured meats like salmon at this location. I wish they had an outdoor area though because it is a nice part of the city. The price was fair here and we also got a coffee to-go. Highly recommended!
Hmmm…..definitely seemed a bit overrated if you ask me.
This is one of the first stops we made to grab something to eat after arriving to the city and just shortly before checking into our hotel close by. The place aesthetically grabbed most of our groups attention, which initially drew us in.
The place is quite small, though eloquently decorated. The cafe/ caviar area is where the entrance first leads into; we were then lead up to a small little dining area up a short little flight of stairs to be seated for eating. It was for a group of 6 of us, including my father in law who was in a temporary wheel chair. They were nice to have folded up the wheel chair and keep it downstairs, however we did get a bit of an attitude from the staff toward the father in law and the wheel chair situation.
The dining area is like stated, small, but tastefully decorated. They offered a palatable breakfast/brunch and lunch menu – pricey of course, but mostly delightful sounding. We were then approached by our server ( who also had a bit of an attitude) who started off taking our drink orders. Most everyone asked for water. I and another, ordered coffee and my hubby ordered a diet coke. Our server than arrived back, with only a few waters, saying he was waiting for some fresh glasses. He also brought my coffee which turned out quite good. Now for the additional waters, it took FOREVER to get….just unbelievable, and he really provided no sympathy for the wait either. We then decided to place a few orders ( most the group was not too hungry). I ended up ordering their " Salmon Cobb Salad". My brothers fiance ordered the "Smoked Salmon Bagel "Served with Cream Cheese, Tomatoes & Capers.
Food arrived eloquently executed. And although my salad turned out decent, it was nothing spectacular – far less impressive enough to have me wanting to potentially order it again.
Overall, with the less than stellar experience we experienced with mostly the service as well as the food, you can most certainly expect we wouldn't be jumping to come in again any time soon. Would possibly stop in to pick up some caviar, but food and having to deal with the wait staff? Skip.
When k went in I could hardly tell if it was open, had no heartbeat. Seems to have an identity crisis of Russian and Parisian.
Food was high quality, service was good, just did love the feel of it, not a destination must do this thing
Finally checked out Petrossian yesterday! I had a quick brunch at the cafe, before a Broadway show. Knowing the story of the brand and cafe, I of course picked salmon with eggs Benedict, snd my bfriend got their breakfast platter.
Overall delicious food, but the appearance of the food was quiet disappointing. Plates are huge compared with their filling. And the service was so so.
The bakery counter is at the contrary super happy and attentive. Before leaving I had to they a cannelle (wow! So good!) and bring home a box of sweet rocks 😉
Just came in for take away coffee and almond croissant and both were delicious. The croissant was the perfect sort of flaky pastry with just the right amount of just the right sweetness almond paste in it. The service was a little slow for the coffee and I do have friends who sat in late morning on a Monday and it took them 40 minutes to be served a cold pastry and a coffee. I will be back but will stick to 'to go'.
We decided on having a lunch at this place after reading the reviews. As per our expectation, it is refined and elegant. Every items are moderate portion which is good for us. It's a small cozy tranquil cafe, but they neither have free wifi nor a lot of tables. I don't think they can accept huge group customers. Although we can't say that it was great service and welcoming, as many reviewers already mentioned, we guarantee the taste wonderful. Considering the location, decor and taste, we don't think it's pricy. If we have an opportunity, we'd like to visit here again and savor a tea and some sweets.
