  1. This place is really cool.  It is not your typical Greek place.  I had the grilled octopus.  It was really good.  We order a dish with all samples of grilled meat.  It was very tasty.  The atmosphere was cool.  Very trendy.

  2. Ok, this is where the big boys (and girls) eat.

As good as it gets for experience, ambience and food.

The bar and dining room are perfectly lit, the staff are just 'there' but not overly fussy and food aside this place feels special, on a higher level to pretty much else anything else I've tried in New York.

The fact that the food is simply delicious, mouth wateringly so, cements an 'easy' 5 star review.

I normally wait 24hrs before posting a review to see how I felt about an experience 'on reflection' …..no need here, The Greek is quite simply the nicest overall dining experience I've had in New York City.

Take a step of those TriBeCa cobbled streets and get inside, I can honestly promise you will not regret it, fantastic.

  3. No complementary fava dip anymore, which is a bummer. Still high quality experience, but the octopodi was not as good as last time and I must admit, the wine list is pretty steeply priced if you're looking to have more than one glass (average $15/glass or $60/bottle).

  4. 3.5 stars. I really wanted to love this place, but in the end unfortunately it was just way too expensive for what it was.

Let me start off though by acknowledging that the ambiance is beautiful. If you're looking for upscale yet lively and aren't afraid to spend some extra dollars, this could be a great date spot. The lighting is just dark enough to be cozy, it's not crazily loud and there's just enough room between the tables to lend some intimacy.

I came here with 2 girlfriends and we ordered some cocktails (Electra and Paris), the octopodi, fries and moussaka. We all loved the drinks-the Electra was refreshingly tart and the Paris was a very fruity, well balanced sweet cocktail. We had really high expectations for the food but were a bit disappointed. Their famous octopus was a little too sour. The fries were just a bit too salty. The moussaka was actually all around solid but really tiny for a $32 dish. Our bill turned out to be $47 each after tip, which we felt was pretty high considering the amount/quality of food we got.

Service was very friendly and fairly prompt. It was overall a great experience but if you're looking for authentic Greek that won't break your bank, try Kiki's instead!

  5. One of the best restaurants I have been to in NYC so far. Love the charming atmosphere n the stylish decor there. Staffs are friendly.

We got there early, so it's nice quiet, pretty chill. 😉

My bf ordered lamb chops, and I had moussaka. Both of them were fantastic! The lamb was juicy n  tender. The moussaka is bit similar to lasagna but with mashed potatoes, zucchini n eggplant. So I assume it's healthier? Hahahaha It looks small but really really filling. Just love it!

Thanks to my bf, had a wonderful dinner there!!!

  6. The Greek is super cute!  My friend and I had been wanting to go here ever since another friend of ours suggested it, and her suggestion didn't disappoint.

We got there around 6:30 on a Wednesday night. It wasn't really too crowded, and we easily got a table. We were seated at one of the high tables across from the bar. There was more seating in another room towards the back, but we were fine with our table.  We took a look at the menu, and decided that we were going to split a bunch of small plates, rather than just getting a big one each. The waitress came over to take our drink order and tell us a few specials. We took another few minutes to decide what we wanted and then placed our order.  We ordered about 5 dishes which wound up being plenty of food for us. We got the spreads, which were great, but the tzatziki is always my favorite. One of the specials that night was squash blossoms filled with rice and feta cheese, which was probably our favorite dish. It looked pretty and tasted good. We got the horiatiki salad, which for being a pretty basic salad was really great!  It was a good combo of flavors, and had a nice big piece of feta on top.  Probably our least favorite dishes, although both really good, were the shrimp saganaki, and chilled octopus salad.  The saganaki just wasn't cheesy enough for me, and the octopus salad was good, but just not really our favorite.

The service was really good. They were attentive about filling our water glasses, and asking about refills when we finished our drinks.  My one complaint would be that our food all came out pretty much at once. I feel like usually when you get all apps/small plates to share they tend to stager them. Since they all came out within a few mins of each other there wasn't really a lot of room on the table, and I felt like I had to eat everything at once. Other than though, everything was great!  I don't usually get down to Tribeca, but I definitely plan on going back!

  7. Loved the overall feel of this place. The decor is amazing and it was so cozy and very romantic for Valentine's Day dinner. The service was fantastic and they had a great wine selection. One of the best bottles of Sauvignon Blanc I've ever had but I unfortunately forget the name. We started with the spreads thinking that it would be pretty basic, but it was actually a stand-out. The spreads are incredible and the pita bread is special. Great appetizer. Then we ordered the octopus…DELICIOUS. Very big portion too which I really respect. Most restaurants charge a lot for octopus and give you nothing, this was a big portion and tasted great. Lastly, we had the mixed grill to share which included filet mignon, pork chops, sausage, and fries. The filet mignon and pork was mouth-watering. Really soft, tender, great taste. The sausage was whatever and so were the fries.

Now, the reason I take off a star is because THIS PLACE SHOULD NOT HAVE TWO $ SIGNS. It should actually have more like 4($$$$) to be completely honest. SUPER pricey. Our bill was $250 for one bottle of wine and the three plates. I believe the meat plate was close to $100, but it really wasn't worth that. I left feeling bad that my date had to pay that much when we expected so much cheaper. This place is definitely a rip off and should warn people before going, but that doesn't take away from how great the experience was overall.

Felt bad because as we were walking out, we noticed everyone else there on a Valentine's Day date was very young, in their 20's, and probably saw the "$$" thinking this place is affordable…IT'S NOT.

  8. Fresh Authentic Greek Food, delicious! Have been back twice already. Our waitress was a love! She explained the menu and gave us wonderful suggestions.
Intimate decor in the heart of TriBeCa
A must if you crave a fresh and healthy Greek meal.
