  1. Not gonna lie, one of the best beer gardens i've been to.

Went on a Saturday night so the place was packed but we managed to score seats for 4. Wasn't sure if there was table service or if we ordered at the bar. A server came by quickly. Despite a packed house, she was pretty good throughout the night–friendly and attentive. The busers were also really good. We ordered up some beers and placed some food.

-bone marrow: pretty bomb! the portion and price make this a must order! I thought it would only be 2 pieces so we ordered 2 orders. Turns out, it comes with 4! So we each got 2 pieces.
-kielbasa (by the grill) – this was ok. we were starving so this was the easiest/fastest order. It comes fries too but they were just average.
-mussels: these were awesome too. the sauce was nice and the size of the mussels were large.
-fries were awesome from the beer garden side (not the grill).
-lamb ribs: these were delicious but the portion was tiny for the price. My friend did say it was a bit gamy but i thought it tasted like what lamb is suppose to taste like.
-pretzel: we were kinda full but felt we needed to try some authentic german bar food. I assumed it was just store bought and reheated, but these were made baked fresh. It was pretty delicious too!

Everyone enjoyed their beers. The place is kinda loud, but it is a beer hall after all. Overall, great place for dinner and drinks.

  2. Beer and food, beer and food. Walking into Radegast I always feel a little mightier, ready to down large portions of meat and giant liters of beer. The establishment is separated into two sections: the bar area, and the grill/eating area. Very spacious seating, and friendly customers at all times of day. Unless it's a sunny Saturday afternoon-  rush hour subway packed + beers = finding a different bar.

Live bands will occasionally play that liven up the ambience and make me want to dance. Maybe need a few beers in me first. Speaking of beers, they serve drinks in GIANT  1/2 liter and liter sized mugs. Making me feel all the more mightier.

I've ordered the Portobello Sandwich from the grill (separate from entrée menu). The cook immediately started to grill and concoct the most amazing sandwich and crispy golden fries. My only qualm was they give a huge freaking slab of goat cheese. It's almost as thick as your hand! While melted gooey cheese is delicious… whew, I had to scrape some of it off, it was SO much.

Recommended for large groups looking for a relaxing afternoon!

  3. I've never been disappointed with a beer garden I've been too. The atmosphere is awesome. Gotta love half drunken people yelling and celebrating! There are two sides of the restaurant, the bar area and an area with many tables. Just grab a seat where you can find and the waiter will come by. Service is extremely friendly and quite prompt considering the shear amount of people inside this hall. They have a large selection of draft beers and they have a BBQ station on the side of where the tables are. Dishes average around ~$11 and beers average around ~$8. Everyone was nice and courteous, no bad complaints. Would definitely come here again!

  4. Rainy Saturday night. Sat in the hall at a great communal picnic table. Enjoyed a couple of Zwickels, a giant soft pretzel, and from "the grill" a sausage platter (brat, curry, and kielbasa). Lively vibe, good beer, good food and though I'm not a fan of a DJ in a German-style beer hall, he did at least play some NOLA brass including Rebirth!!!

  5. I am proud to be the 1000th reviewer of this wonderful institution. It's obviously very popular as the place was filled up in every big room. It's huge, so you'll likely find a spot. This is definitely now my favorite biergarten and I'm glad this place is doing well as the staff members were friendly and they seem to treat their customers well. The live music was great, too. Just an overall happy place. The beer selection was impressive and the IPA I had was one of the best beers I've had in a while.

  6. Another great beer garden! They have a huge list for drafts and bottles! The beer is great and so was the ambience. Just go on in and grab seat where you can. It can get busy but among all the friendly people you won't have trouble mingling into some tight seats. Make some friends and enjoy a drink or two or three! The staff is super friendly and helpful despite how busy it can get. They have a grill in the back that cooks up some killer bratwurst and curry wurst! Definitely check it out if you're in the area! I'll be back !

  7. Radegast is a great beer garden to meet friends at for a few drinks in Williamsburg. The bar staff is quick and attentive. They have about a dozen drafts at the main bar and some more options in the rear area. I like the variety of the draft list. The beers are kept at the perfect temperature.

On the weekends, there is a band performing. They also have a drop down projection screen for soccer games and other festivities.

  8. Went there on a nice sunny Saturday afternoon fully intending to enjoy some beers. We only made it as far as the entrance before coming across an aggressive middle aged bouncer. As soon as we approached the entrance he started yelling at us to open our bags, then he assumed that I didn't have my ID so he yelled some more and told us that we couldn't come in (even though we did). I turned and told my husband that I would rather not go in at all at that point. I guess we will never know if this beer garden is any good, but it's not worth having to deal with such an unprofessional individual. This is a beer garden after all, not some Manhattan night club.
