Dependable Chinese takeout with reasonable lunch specials.
Order a la carte, or pick from behind the counter[1]. I'm partial to MSG'd Chinese when the mood strikes, so if you are too, go for their beef and broccoli or their pepper steak lunch combos. You too can be fed and happy for minimal dinero.
Service has always been speedy and friendly, in my experience.
They take credit (Visa and Mastercard, at least) AND they don't sport spend minimum which is totally awesome though I doubt they'd be thrilled if you walked in and bought just a can of Coke.
[1] I realllllllly wish they had lights to highlight the food – everything looks brown without lamp lighting.
This place is a grungy Chinese food restaurant. No frills. I have trouble often ordering with the lady in charge because she has a heavy accent but she also has skills and speaks Spanish too.
They do make for a cheap meal. And it seems relatively clean for what it is.
Craptastic Chinese fud!
Not horrible but typical greasy, Americanized Chinese fare seemingly prepared in not the best or most hygienic kitchens. Still, it provides fast basic Chinese food if your starving and in a pinch. Cheap also.
I was in the mood for some cheap Chinese food and Yelp pointed me to Taste Good! Only a few blocks from my office, I was pleased to find a down and dirty Chinese restaurant packed with Chinese customers, which is always a good sign. I ordered the General Tso lunch special which came with fried rice (white or brown are also options) and a Vegetable Roll (Hot & Sour or Egg Drop Soup are alternative choices). The General Tso was excellent and had a bit of a spicy kick to it. They also packed a lot of food into our container. I think I have at least three meals in there!
Anyway, if you're looking for something cheap and tasty, Taste Good is a great option!
Some of the more mainstream stuff is so-so (wonton soup, dumplings, general tsao's), but the stuff that comes off the steam table (that is usually ordered in chinese) is why you should go there. A daily selection of fish, vegetables, and the kind of meat with bones in it that I am just a little too American to try. If you like spicy, ask for hot chili and they'll give you a little container of crushed chilis in oil. Be careful with that stuff!
